Product Reviews For Earthquake TNT-12DVC

  • I'm very impressed with the capabilities of this sub. I put it in a ported box but didn't go with the recommended dims.(which were at 40htz) I made a box at 35htz and this badboy sounds amazing for only having one sub. I'm pushing 1500.1 and it takes it like a champ. I can only imagine what 2-4 subs would do...would probably get did of any rust on your car. 1 shakes my Intrigue pretty good. Can't beat it for the price. You won't regret it...... Tight sound and gets pretty low. Just buy this subwoofer

  • I purchased two ( for evaluation ), TNT-12DVC's, to duplicate a project i seen on YouTube, where they installed 12 Hifonics HFX12D4's as a budget demo build. I have this same idea in mind, but i chose these because of more X-Max. At double the price, I'm not sure they are double the sub, but i have yet to break them in fully. In a sealed enclosure, they produce some pretty deep bass, displaying lots of movement. I bridged them into a 1 ohm setup, using the JL J2-1000.1 amplifier. ( discontinued ) They seem to like a sealed enclosure better than a ported enclosure. Other thoughts: I installed them into an open atmosphere ( no divider ), front facing, side slot-ported box, and the way the port was setup on this box, the subs just could not move enough to keep cool under above RMS power ratings. I then switched to a sealed enclosure, where the movement increased, allowing them to air out better. Having said that, they still began to stink, even though they were getting around RMS wattage, and have been heat-cycled a few times. Hopefully they will stop smelling like they are burning up after a few more heat cycles.
