These subs really are a great price. However in my experience with them, they did not stand up to my Hifonics GLX 2200.1 amp. The Type R's are supposed to handle 1000 RMS and 3000 peak. I'm not very experienced with wiring, but I figured running 1600 though two speakers should be fine. Both my Type R's blew out within a couple months. One of them cracked straight down the middle. The second one, the cone separated from the outer rubber flex material. I now have 2 Kicker L7s which are a bit more costly, but I've already had them a couple months and they seem to be much better matched for my amp even with lower wattage listed on the box.
I would also say that kickers are louder because I ran a couple CVRs on the same amp for a bit and they definitely had more punch to them.
It's possible I got a random bad pair of subs, and these aren't expensive but I wouldn't run them more than 600rms from what I've seen
