this speaker is a little over rated i think. i had four of them in my car. they are a lot better than the stock speakers obviously, however the new ones i just put in are a lot better.
Awesome speakers. Incredible bass response, however at very low frequencies, speaker may reach Max excursion and make a snapping noise. Once I got subs in my car, and turned it to High pass, everything was golden. They performed like a dream. Extremely clear and loud, very nice speakers.
i love them. I have been looking for a full range speaker like this for sometime. I own a Porsche 911. it was hard to fit it, but well worth it . I power it with a kicker 650. John Clemente
Sick speakers. Put these in my buddies store for a show case of JL Audio, and rumbled the inside of the store not even reaching top level of volume. Put 4 of them in my car, amazing with the 6" VR speakers and tweeters. Powered them off of a 500/1 amp and threw in 2 12" 3v2 powering with also a 500/1! Amazing system makes heads turn, esepically cop trouble at night time!
i have a set of these babbies in my 2000 honda civic and i must say wow these 6x9,s have the low frequency of a small sub woofer they are a excellant midbass driver for just about any system and can crete a perfect rolloff from your subs if tuned correctly.most systems have a gap between sub frequency and midbass but these vr,s will elinimate that gap.just when i turn the subs off my car has a ton of midbass i recomend these to anyone i would not even consider any other 6x9 ive owened them all for boston,kiker, pioneer,inifinty,mb quart and nothig is as accurate and clear as jl.s vr 6x9,s
Verry good speakers, they have the full range of frequencies, they also kick some bass. They miss a little on the tweeter side but thats ok. Great Speakers
I have these in a 1997 cadillac deville hooked up to a jl audio e4300 amplifier and MAN I love them.So glad that I did buy these.Without an amp they won't sound as good,but I bet they'd still even sound better than many others.GREAT CHOICE!
over the years I tried all brands of 6x9s in my car("97 Handa Civic 4-door) but never was satisfyed with the prefromance I got till I got a pair of VR690-CXi coaxle speakers as a gift from my brother last year. I liked them so much that I had a shop rebuild my dash and front doors to hold two more pairsw I run my subs from 50hz down and the 6x9s from 40hz up.the highs are great but the bass output is off the charts and what sets these speakers apart from all the rest.Sub/mid bass is unfriking blevable. sounds like a pair of 12s upfront. If you need 6x9s in your car and need to replace them then try these speakers.
I have them in my alero and they totally sound great, the factory monsoon amp inside my car make a pretty fly sounding.
Hooked these up to my 2000 civic coupe. They are certainly great 6X9's. But, these absolutely NEED to have an amp hooked up to them. Without that these are barely better than the stock 6X9's
