i have 1 of these pushing TWO solo x 18s at .7 ohms. this thing pushes them to their mechanical limit all the way down to low 11V world. even after several songs at full tilt, the unit isn't as hot as one would expect it to be. they'll even operate down into the 10s according to the SS manual! (not that i recommend discharching that far!) DEFINITELY five stars!!! :)
I had never owned any soundstream product but saw how this unit was performing on a few youtube videos and decided to go with it. After setting all the gains this thing really knocks! Have it hooked up to 4 CVX 12's dual 4 ohm in a Ford F150 Supercab. I love it and suggest it to anyone that wants quality sound at an inexpensive price.
This amp definitley has a place in the Car Audio World! Funny how anyone that owns one like myself rave about it, but anyone who does not own one knocks it. I wonder why?? This is one of the best value amps out. Dollar for dollar I would put my two splx 12's running off this bad boy at .5ohm up against anything out there in this power class and would not flinch! I am buying a second one and am going to run each 12 off of one at 2 ohms I will get the same power to each with better SQ, at $359 it is a no brainer. My decision has nothing to do with how it currently runs at .5 ohm. It does not even get hot. It is simple physics. Better SQ at higher ohm loads. I would not try it, but I have read on other blogs howpeople run this thing at .25 and it does not back down...
