This amp is strictly for beginners. First of all, this amp WILL NOT handle a 2-ohm load at all, so if you were thinking about running a couple of 4-ohm subs in parallel, running a DVC sub, or if you have a 2-ohm sub, you need to get another amp - even in bridged mode, it can only handle 4 ohms and higher. Otherwise, it does what it says it does but won't blow you away with power or sound quality. For what it puts out, this amp is large. You can find amps with smaller footprints that put out more power. And you can trip the protection on hot Arizona days if you like to hear it loud. But Jensen is all about "inexpensive", so that's really the only reason you should consider this amp - if you have very limited funds.
First of all if you read the specifications it PLAINLY says bridgeable into 4 ohms only. The reason the amp tripped is because it was running below 4 ohms which makes the amp get way hotter than it should. And yes you can get smaller amps that produce more power but they are more expensive. The reason its so big is its a cheaper way to keep the amp cool. Its just a shame that because of the price tag it falls into the hands of some people that don't have a clue what they are doing or anything about car audio. These amps are as good as some other brand name amps Ive seen. It just makes me mad to see people give a product a bad review because of something they did wrong and then think they know alot about it. This line of amps will do great on just about any system. Just do your research to see if this amp is for you.
Hey I purchased two of these to run my mids and highs and they kick ass for the money you can't beat them I am a Master Installer and have dumped thousands into my other audio systems and I can say that I was impressed for the money you can not go wrong
I have this amp in my Tacoma pushin two sony 10's and it kicks ass. I was looking for good sound but didn't want to sink hundreds of dollars into a system. A friend gave me the subs and built my own box and the amp's price is second to none for the quality you get out of it. I've had it under my driver seat and have never had it to over heat or give me any problems. I'm with the guy that said they hate when people give bad reviews b/c of their own stupidity. If you don't know what you're doing leave the shit alone it could actually be dangerous to set it up wrong. I've known people's cars to catch fire b/c a dumbass thought they were bad and knew what to do. So, if you don't know then get someone who does.
this am is capable of running at 2 ohms X 2.. its not a mono amp so dont try to run it like a mono amp. i have a dual voice coil 4 ohm. im running at 8 ohms and it thumps just as good as those old school mtx amps.. and running very cool at 8 ohms... good amp. im more of a rockford fan just didnt have the cash and im more than happy with this jensen
GREAT amp for the money. You just have to have a clue as to what to expect, and how to maximize it's potential. People that throw big cash at "better" gear are wasting their money. Dummies should stay away from this amp, and all other car audio no matter what the price point.
I have had this amp for a while now and never had no problem with it. its a nice amp for the price.
Well i had dis amp briged at da 850 watts pushin a JL Audio W3 15 , it pushed dat 15 so hard dat i blew two da fuse links apart, but im pretty good at repairin speakers, so i put it back together and it push my back glass out in my 89 Ford Ranger and rattled da doors and bed of my truck and tailgate. It beat so hard dat police heard me 200ft away. but dat time was a warning for me. da amps is great for da real price but i only pay 20 dollars for it. but i highly recommend it

I've had this amp for over a year and have absolutely no complaints about it. I push just one JBL dvc 10" bridged at 8ohms. The sound quality is great and it doesn't overpower my sub. The cast housing is great because I don't have to worry about crushing it behind the seat of my truck unlike others in the past. Excellent amp for the price. I actually want to buy another one.
kjbad From Arizona you are obviously a novice, ive had this amp over a yr now it pounds my 2 12" 4ohm dvc subs all day with no problem.so if u want a nice amp that doesent overheat and are on a budget buy this amp.just stay in the 200w rms range and u will be fine.also have allen wrenches handy.
This amp is a Little Beast it runs my Single 12" DVC Sub very Neatly, Granted it does not power up to the fullest but I runs it either way! Im looking for an Upgrade to get the most out of my Sub since running a 2Ohm Capable Sub to 8Ohm isnt the best idea at least I can have a Sub for the meantime!. Very Satisfied and Would buy it Again!
