Product Reviews For Orion HCCA122

  • ok so your thinking of spending some real money on your gut wrenching stereo, then you can start here. I have plenty of money and plenty of nasty stereos in several vehicles, but my 2 orions pushed by my 4000 watt Hi Fonics has to be one of the simplest and best. There are clearer woofers and harder hitters but if you try this combo for about 1500 bucks and a new high voltage alternator you can be deafened and beat to pieces with this 4 inch stroke. For the money the Brutus Hifonics and these could possibly be the sickest bang for the buck. Not the greatest sound quality of all time but definately some of the highest spl and gut wrenching bass for the buck. If you like to ride around blurry eyed and struggling for breath just get this combo and perhaps a Jeezee cd and you will understand.

  • Great price from OCS, lot cheaper than my local audio store. Have 1 sub in about a 2.40 cubic feet box running off a Hifonics BXI2006D and it hits great, but lacks in sound quality.

  • 2 Orion HCCA 12.2 / 2 x Power Acoustik BAMF5500 Bridged 1 Ohm Stable @ 6400W Continuous. Hits like a train hitting a mouse. I've gone deaf and so has my girlfriend. Rattles the hell out of my Mustang 09. 1 sub in a 2.5ft box at 38hz and then another in a 2.2ft box at 29hz. Lack in SQ, enough SPL to blow my windows out.

  • WOW!!!! This thing is a BEAST. I have this runnin on a power acoustik amp at 3200 watts rms and it hits damn good, and I'm just breakin it in. The price here though...well look around i got it for $350. Overall if you want a great well built subwoofer, look no further, you have already found it.

  • The only subwoofer comparable to the rockford t2 and jl audio w7 KILLER. Orion is much more rare than jl audio but def. worth it. this is the biggest and baddest subwoofer out there. it is an SPL subwoofer so of course it isnt going to have the best SQ but i cant complain a bit. shattered the back hatch window of my integra and cracked the window in the back seat.

  • I have 2 of the Orion 12.2 in the backseat of my truck, well where my backseat used to sit. Each of these monsteres are hooked up to a hifonics 2010 amp. I took it down to my local dealer and played around with the SPL meter and at 14volts i hit 146.2db with a 45hz track, and i was babying them. If your looking to go loud then these subs are the way to go. No offense to online car stereo but i got them cheaper than there listed price here.

  • HI I've got one of these bad boys hooked up to 2 power acoustic stax 5500/d and i gotta tell you.. it kills my last system (2 12 W7's with the jl 1000 hooked to each) I've got the orion in a 4.5 cf box tuned to 30 hz and it murders every bass comp i've went to!! Hit 154.87 db last summer (in a 97 Lumina mind you, so its completely sealed in the trunk due to seats not able to fold down) If you're willing to spend the cash then these are for you!! NOTHING COMPARES!!! Did have to do major upgrades to my power system on my car tho.. added battery w/ isolator in rear, 220A alternator, the "big three upgrade" with 0gauge ran through out everything and used 4 gauge for my speaker wire.

  • I got 1 of these hook up to a hifonics zrx3000.1d and it hits harder than my boys jlw7 hook to a jl1000. It's in my 2000 crown vic and for that big ass trunk this one sub hits like it has 4 15.People think i have more than 1 sub in there but they get shock when i pop the trunk and they see only 1 12 thats a BEAST.

  • It's a loud speaker for sure if you are able to supply the power, it candle around 3200 rms which I currently am at. The only problem is it's very difficult to build a box to get the sound you want

  • Best subwoofer I've had to date. I was tempted to buy 2, glad i didn't. I'd probably would have had to replace my windows at this point. I would recommend this sub to anyone who wants supreme bass but doesn't mind spending the money

  • My favorite subs all around that I've tried. I ended up buying 2 of the 12's and am running them at 0.5 ohms with my SAZ 3500D. And then behind the amp I have a 225A Excessive Amperage alternator, 3 XS Power deep cell batteries, and 2 runs of 0 gauge wire with 300A fuses connecting it all; and with all that these subs are definitely WAY under powered! I tuned the box in the high 20's in hertz and can do a hair trick which is exactly what I was going for, so I was psyched when I pulled it off without renforcing my roof yet (a LOT of the pressure goes into shacking it up and down!) or finishing installing the sound dampener all the way. Definitely great subs, and a good option to still make the subs look semi-flush to the box without adding that 3rd layer of MDF to the baffle (although bad if you wanted to do this for the complete flat look). I've never met anyone in Alaska with a larger setup than me too! Although if you're looking at any subs of this tier than be prepared to either dish out a load of money to get a box professionally built for you or to spend a large chunk of time and effort doing it yourself (which is honestly very fulfilling to do), because NO sub is going to perform well no matter your goal if you don't have an adequate box and power system behind it. Oh, and one thing I have to say is that they ended up giving me a sub with the dust cap put on upside down :( I was too pumped to get it hooked up so I didn't complain, and I'm sure that it's one in a million, but I had to say it... Now people always tell me that I put one in upside down lol

  • The best and loudest Subwoofer that I have ever owned in the pass 15 years. I hit 158 DB with a single hcca 12" @ 2 ohm with a hifonics calss D amp at 3000 watts.
