Bought this unit a week ago and love every aspect of it so far. I used a 4GB USB stick and put about 500 songs on it. The unit remembers what song you were on even after removal of the faceplate. The sound quality is so much better then when I used to burn it to CD. Also had a Sony before it got stolen? A nice feature would be to allow change of the color display to match the car but that is not that important. It also is ready for an I-pot and other gadgets you can connect to it. I first ordered a Epson unit with card reader but when it arrived it was a flop... the card reader would only take SD memory and only 128MB max capacity and the unit cost about 100 dollars more. It went straight back to the dealer. I love my Sony.... i will test if I can connect a card reader via USB to the unit to play all different kinds of memory cards as well... lets see if that will work.. The price vs. performance is exceptional
this is a good head unit at a great price. it was $25 cheaper on here than everywhere else i saw it and with free shipping, you cant beat the price. the sound is clear, but i dont hear enough bass. maybe its because i still have my factory speakers, i dont know. the only thing i dont like is that the ipod connection isnt detachable. i dont have an ipod and havent planned on getting one so the ipod cable is just hanging from under my dashboard unused. overall a great radio at an excellent price.
This the best if you want a cheap headunit that can play your ipod or mp3.The sound is insane when you play it loud.
Really hard to beat this unit (and onlinecarstereo for that matter). The only problem I've had with the unit is that it can take up to 30 seconds to read my 2 gig fully loaded usb stick. Which honestly isn't that long. It's just not instant. Might be because I have some pictures on the stick. I still have to try that out. Aside from that it plays the big three formats (Ogg would have been awesome if they had added that but ogg hasn't been put onto a SOIC to my knowledge). But it can't play DRM'd files off of usb (don't know why you'd want them anyway). The only reason I'd buy a different brand after this is to get in dash video. This sony is a steal and a real winner. Excessively Highly Recommended.
This is one great unit you simply cant beat the amount of features this stereo has in this price range. However i havent been able to hear its full potential yet because my factory speakers suck, ive purchased 6 infinity reference series speakers for my car to cure that problem.
