Product Reviews For Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4

  • This is a great sub and expecially for the price i bought it and made my own ported box and it hits good! i have a memphis pr1000 watt amp pushing it. i made the port about 9 inches long so it hits the lows awesome!! and the highs arent so bad either.definately worth the money.

  • My 2 10 inch kicker comp vx's the loudest round subs that kicker make smelled like that for 2 months then they blew up. You must break in all subs for 40 hours. Or else your voice coils fry, they seperate apart.

  • I have 2 n my 86 cutlass n a dual v tec box. They r being pushed by 3000 class d watts. These subs pound hard as hell. Even with 3000 watts it seems like they still beg 4 more. Everytime da bass hits, my roof and quarter panels flex, and the trunk shakes n vibrates like the subs r tryna excape. incredible earth shakin low bass. I love em

  • Very nice high quality sub. Even though I only had if for two weeks, it's easily at the top my list for subs. I think if Pioneer would lose the plastic trim ring on the front it would probably sound badass power mounted, but still impressed everyone as is.

  • This is to help all those ppl getting the burning smell... This clearly means well one of a couple things. Either your putting more RMS to them than they can handle, thats the most common problem. They say they can handle 1000RMS put 800 or less to them and that should help. Second thing could be no air to the subwoofer. These subs may be meant for a ported box so put them in one and that could also stop your problem... Another thing is that they may just be shitty subwoofers, but i doubt it, Pioneer makes very good equipment and i have heard nothing but good stuff about these woofers....

  • i got two of the suckers in my 2002 jeep liberty, i suggest getting your box built not boughtin from a store, sounds better that way. but i do get that burning smell too! but i'd say getting some Digital Designs subs they pound a lot harder then these by far! this guy in watertown sd. has two twelves in a s10, he beat a guy who had 4 18's in an escalade!

  • The burning smell is the apoxy on the voice coil heating when the power from the amp gets dirty be it from voltage, low impedance or let's face it,a dirty amp plus a combo of these things. Those of you how are running these sub with a power acoustik, boss, Kole ect. These are cheap dirty amps especially at 1 ohm loads. These amps really put out 6 percent distortion at this load wich is audible, and high distortion cause the sub to heat up because voice coil is vibrating side to side while going up and down causing friction. Distortion, heat then DEATH!!!!!! There's nothing wrong with this sub!

  • First woofer and probably my last. My friends all had dual 12" subs with moderate rms so I figured I would get 1 12" with high rms wattage. Great sounding from inside my car "my trunk rattles a ton". When you get the package for this and lift it the first time you know it is going to be of great Pioneer quality. Shipping weight was close to 30 pounds! Overall great sub, worth the money but sadly is sitting in my room being unused because my pioneer stereo was stolen =(, people who stole it weren't smart enough to realize there were amp wires plugged into it so the sub is safe. Sound quality is great, price is right, don't get a junky amp though. If you want a high quality sub it is worthless without a good amp.

  • I have never had a burning smell from any of mine and I've only moved three sets now. I have two twelves in a ported box running off an Alpine MRP m2000 at 2800 RMS at 2 ohms and still never get a burning smell and I found them for like 8 hours straight sometimes by far my favorite Subs in this class aside from Alpine Type X which is spec-wise basically the same but these ones are better rated and still my favorite these things pretty much shake my doors off you literally see my doors vibrating trying to open when I got these suckers turned up to 20
