This was the only sub I could get to fit under the FRONT seat of my 07 Nissan Frontier. I'm running it in a .23cuft custom (polly stuffed) box and powering it with a 200 W profile amp. It add's ALLOT of depth to the low end of my (mostly accoustic, country and rock)music. Kettle/kick drums and base lines I didn't even hear before are now obvious and deciently clear. Well worth the $ and a great addition if your tight on space and limited on options. It's not a real thumper (although you can get a bit out of it.) but does get you bumping to certain tunes if you crank up the input. my only regret is that I wish I had room for the 10" version as it has flatter low end response. hth
As subwoofers these an't that great but if used as midbass woofers much better2 in my doors(sealed/.30 cubic inche enclosures) and run them from 30HZ to 100HZ(4-OHM load) using 100-watts each and they do a good job of keeping the bass up front.OH!If you mount them like I did make sure you use lots of sound deaden materal on the doors or they will rattle.
I wish I had room for a 10 or a deeper 8 but in my truck space is limited. I was surprised at this sub, it has great low end response. Balances everything out well.
I have one of these in my Lexus SC300 to replace the factory 8" sub with a 5-channel Crunch amp and this sub REALLY bumps for its size. I installed it thinking that it wouldn't really bump that much, but it seriously shakes the hell out of my car! I have everything sound deadened so it sounds even better when this sub hits! Don't let this sub's 8" size fool you, its got some serious punch to it for it's little size.
Great out of the Box. Tight truck shaker. Installed 2 ea 8 inch Subs with a alpine 5 channel AMP Sub out was 250 watts @ 4 ohms . should not have had a problem . 120 days later theys subs went down for the count. Think I stay away from Pioneer products.
Worked nice for what it is but takes a lot if amperage to push small speaker to make it really get its true sounding potential
Works great best value for the money!
