I bought these a few years back to replace the front speakers in my Honda Civic. They definitely sounded better than factory speakers. The bass response for a 6 1/2 inch speaker was about as good as it ever could be. I never had to cross them over. The highs were good as well but sometimes too harsh. It was the midrange that I always felt was lacking. The vocals and instruments just never came through good enough for me. I eventually ended up buying Polk ex series speakers to replace these and sent the Vega's to the rear of my car.
Now, a few years later, I've bought 2 new pairs of Polk speakers for all around my car. I feel like the sound is more balanced and even than it ever was with the Vegas.
Bottom line:
Good bass response for 6 1/2 inch. Strong Highs but sometimes too harsh. Midrange is lacking.
