These are great components, I highly reccomend these, at first I wanted JL Audio, but the store did'nt have what I wanted, when I wanted them. So I chose to go with these Diamond Audio S500s, and let me tell you, I am in noway disappointed at all. I am using the JL Audio 300/4 for them what a nice combonation. They get extremely loud and clean, no distortion at all. Good competition for the JL Audio components. Soon to come for my truck is the JL Audio stealth box ( 1-10W0)125 watts,and the JL Audio 250/1 amp. I hope that will be enough bass if not i might have to buy a different type of vehicle because I love deep low and alot of bass so I hope JL Audio comes through for me . The head unit I'm using is an Alpine cda-9807. So far my ish is loud and clean can't wait for my sub(stealth box) and amp... Jordan
Diamond audio has always based themselves on having the best component systems out there. and i have to say, these speakers do not disappoint one bit. i had a complete custom install job in my truck, they put the tweeters in the doors and took metal put of the door so that the crossovers could fit, but it was well worth. they have great bass response for the size and the treble is beyond belief. running 65 rms to these components seems almost excessive, because they BLAIR. best buy i have made so far, if your thinking about another speaker set, stop looking, this is all you need and more.
The S500s (or S500a) is a great choice for 5 1/4" door installations. The Hex components have amazingly true and clear reproduction of sound especially at louder volumes. I've tried MB Quart QSD's, Focal's and Infinity Kappa's and the Hex could not be beat.
