The Evolution TR systems have stood the test of time by delivering unsurpassed value and performance in their price class. The TR-650 system features 6.5-inch (165 mm) component woofers with mineral-filled polypropylene cones, long excursion capabilities and stamped steel frames.
The woofer design benefits from JL Audio's vast woofer design experience and advanced modeling systems. The 6.5-inch (165 mm) format is a direct fit in many vehicles. Multiple mounting patterns are provided on the woofer frame for easy installation into most vehicles that accept a 6.5-inch (165 mm) speaker. The TR component tweeters are built with 0.5-inch textile diaphragms that deliver clean response, on and off axis.
The tweeters can be flush-mounted or surface-mounted with the supplied fixtures. An inline 12 dB / octave high-pass filter is pre-wired onto the tweeter connection harness, which connects to the woofer terminals, eliminating a bulky outboard crossover network and simplifying installation. Woofer grilles are included, each consisting of a black grille tray featuring the JL Audio logo and a black steel mesh grille insert.

These are good solid speakers. They are crystal clear and sound quality is awesome. I put these in the doors of my 94 silverado. My only downside is that when they aer played at high levels with my 2 10w3v2's on a JL 500/1 amp, they sound distorted, i need an amp for them. But if you are only gonna buy speakers, they are an awesome deal at $125.
These speakers are an amazing compliment to any front staging system. The free air midbass 6.5" reproduces all but the lowest of lows with no distortion. Originally hooked up to an OEM head unit, they are now connected to a complimenting JL300/4 Slash amp. The only problem I have with this set of components is the lack of a crossover component. However, the inline setup of the connection is still nothing to sniff at. For the price, these components are probably the best purchase I've made in my car stereo enhancement. I only wish they would include a 6.75" adaptor ring though.
Replaced a pair of infinity coax with these in hopes of improved front-staging. Boy, did I get it. Although this unit only provides an inline crossover the sound is still very detailed. In my opinion, this is a great addition to your car audio system if your looking to save money and keep things simple. Thanks OCS!
I bought these speakers and hooked them up to a Memphis amp and they sound amazing. No distortion and they sound really clear
I have this componet system is my 97 suburban, and they sound great. I have three 18 w3s in my truck. Since i had so much bass I put these speakers on a 300/4 JL Audio amp and they sound great. You can now not only hear my bass but my highs and mids also from far away.
I replaced Some Boston coaxials in the front doors of my 99 saturn SL2 with these components per reccomendation of my car audio guy, I would say the sound is 500% better than I ever would have imagined could come out of speaker for less than 400$. I would reccomend them to anyone who wants goo sound
Great speakers.. was a little turned-off by the inline crossover but JL knew what they were doing apparently.. i took a gamble with them and it paid off BIG TIME... they are 50 watts RMS, doesn't take alot to power them and they are crips and clear.. if you buy these.. i would recommend an amp so you can really get the full potential out of em'

wow what a speaker this pairs are awesome very nice mid bass and they came without a crossover which you don't have to worry about were to hide them very nice speakers I would definetily buy again
Got these for my gf's camaro and they sound amazing! 100% satisfied and there only running off a crappy Dual deck. I love that the crossover is built into the wire. Getting an Alpine CDE-102 with the Alpine power pack (KTP-445) and it should really bring them to life. 10 times better than the c2's I bought, Definitely recommend these.
