This Alpine sound is very good, I have it connected to a 3 way crossover, then to a 4ch alpine amp for mid/high and a Hifonics Boltar VII for the bass. But I don’t like how the low freq. bass sound on this Alpine CDE 9881.
Love it. Got it yesterday and read the entire manual. It has all the features i want and nothing i dont.:) I also looked at the cda-9883 but i didnt need the hd radio or cd changer control so i figured the simpler the better. I really like that you can change the frequency of the bass and treble as well as the level. So you can adjust how deep you want your bass and how crisp you want your highs. Looks great too, very bright and clear. Only small gripe would be i wish it had more lines of text although 1 works fine. Navigation is also intuitive with percentage search and the ability to search by playlist, artist, album, ect. For the money look no further. Seriously consider this unit. Im very satisfied! Obviously. :)
I've always had pioneer until it broke 2 weeks ago. I decided to go with something different and I chose this alpine. It has a big difference in sound quality and it's easier to control. Also I like the way you can change the frequency of the lows and highs with boosting them as well. If you have amps their are 3 preamp outputs and you can turn off the internal amp to increase effiency of the head unit which will result in even better SQ. This is a very good head unit and I can't believe the cheap price.
I had this player for a month and I love it! Its plays my music much clearer. Its a good head unit and worth the money. I cant wait to hook up my subs to really hear it bump.
I like this Alpine CDE - 9881 Everything That I wanted Remote ready,Ipod ready,User friendly and looks great in my 2006 Toyota Tundra.The Alpine CDE - 9881 completed the system I always wanted Rockford fosgate amp P450.4,P600.1BD,4 5.9 3way infinity door speaker and the Rockford fosgate P3412 Shallow mount sub. All went perfect with Alpine CDE 9881.
