Why Choose Rockford Fosgate T1S1-12 Component Car Subwoofer?
Rockford Fosgate Power T1 Slim Series Subwoofer
This is a single 12-inch subwoofer designed to provide a powerful bass response in a slim and compact form factor. This subwoofer features a 1.5” aluminum voice coil, a cast aluminum frame, and a vented magnet assembly for improved heat dissipation. The T1S1-12 is capable of producing up to 600 watts of RMS power and 1200 watts of peak power, making it ideal for use in a variety of audio systems. The subwoofer's slim design allows for easy installation in tight spaces, making it perfect for compact vehicle
Uses Neodymium Motor Structure
This design is one of the most powerful and efficient in the industry. The T1S1-12 utilizes a neodymium motor structure, which is a combination of a high-strength steel frame, a powerful magnet, and an optimized voice coil. This combination allows for the highest power handling and the lowest distortion levels. With its heavy-duty suspension and a large, long-throw motor, the T1S1-12 delivers deep, powerful bass that will satisfy even the most discerning audiophile.
Vented Pole Piece
The 12-inch subwoofer is designed to produce deep, powerful bass. It features a vented pole piece with a large surface area for improved cooling and increased power handling. The subwoofer is constructed from a lightweight cast aluminum frame with a durable rubber surround for increased durability. The T1S1-12 is rated for up to 600 watts RMS, and includes a built-in shorting ring for increased linearity at higher frequencies.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why isn't the subwoofer producing the deep bass I expected?
Check the enclosure volume, amplifier gain, crossover settings, and speaker polarity. An improperly designed enclosure or reversed polarity can significantly reduce low-frequency output and make the system sound weaker than expected.
- • What enclosure should I use for the best performance?
Use a properly designed sealed or ported enclosure that follows the manufacturer's recommended specifications. Correct internal volume and tuning help produce powerful, controlled bass without unnecessary mechanical stress.
- • What amplifier should I pair with this subwoofer?
Choose an amplifier that provides clean RMS power appropriate for the subwoofer's power handling and impedance. Proper matching helps maximize bass output while reducing clipping and potential damage.
- • Why does the amplifier go into protect mode during heavy bass?
Check the speaker impedance, power and ground connections, and wiring for shorts. An incorrect load, voltage drop, overheating, or poor connection can cause the amplifier to enter protection.
- • Why does the bass become distorted at higher volume?
Distortion can result from excessive gain, amplifier clipping, or pushing the woofer beyond its recommended limits. Lower the gain and verify the crossover and amplifier settings are properly adjusted.
- • Why am I hearing rattling or buzzing from the enclosure?
Inspect the enclosure joints, mounting screws, speaker terminals, and surrounding vehicle panels. Loose hardware or air leaks can vibrate during heavy bass and create noises that may resemble speaker damage.
- • Does it need a break-in period before reaching full performance?
A gradual break-in period allows the suspension and moving components to loosen naturally. Start at moderate volume levels and avoid prolonged maximum output during the first several hours of use.
- • Can I use this with a factory head unit?
Yes, but an appropriate external amplifier is generally required to provide sufficient power. Depending on the vehicle, a line output converter or factory integration interface may also be necessary.
- • Why does the bass become weaker when I increase the volume?
Check for amplifier clipping, voltage drop, protection mode, or an incorrect impedance load. These issues can cause the amplifier to reduce output or shut down when bass demand increases.
- • Why does the bass sound different after changing the enclosure?
Different enclosure volumes and tuning frequencies can significantly change the subwoofer's response. Verify the new enclosure meets recommended specifications and retune the amplifier after installation.

Brings a lot of bass to the mix and its surprisingly good for a shallow design. Had it in my enclosure that I made of my own and the lows are really sounding superb. A little bit pricey but the performance is hard to beat for the price.
