Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why doesn't the 572 completely hide my D3400?
The 572 is a cover plate rather than a full battery enclosure, so portions of the battery can remain visible. One buyer specifically wished it covered more of the battery.
- • Is the 572 mainly for appearance or battery mounting?
It is designed as a billet-aluminum cover plate and hold-down component, giving the battery installation a cleaner, more finished appearance while helping secure the battery.
- • Why does the billet finish look different from what I expected?
Finish expectations can vary, and one verified buyer felt the piece was not as smooth as expected. Inspect the surface carefully when it arrives if appearance is important to your build.
- • Will the 572 work with my D3400R?
The 572 is associated with the 3400-series battery family, but terminal orientation and the exact battery case should be checked before installation to ensure everything clears properly.
- • Could nearby wiring interfere with the 572?
Yes. The cover occupies space above the battery, so cable routing should be checked beforehand to prevent wires from being squeezed or forced against the cover.
- • Why doesn't my 572 sit flat on the battery?
Incorrect battery positioning or interference from cables and mounting hardware can prevent the cover from sitting correctly. Reposition the battery and check for anything contacting the cover before tightening it.
- • Can the 572 make my engine bay look more organized?
Yes. Its polished billet-aluminum construction can give a D3400 or compatible battery installation a cleaner, more finished appearance.
- • Does the 572 add much bulk to the battery setup?
The cover itself is relatively thin, listed at approximately 0.12 inches in height, so it adds minimal vertical bulk compared with a large enclosed battery box.
- • What if my battery installation has limited clearance above it?
Measure the available space before installing the 572 and account for connected cables and terminals. Even a thin cover can become an issue when clearance is extremely tight.
- • Why should I inspect the 572 before completing my installation?
Checking the finish, alignment, battery coverage, and cable clearance first can prevent having to remove the cover later if the appearance or fit does not meet your expectations.
