- • Will the XV20Q fit my original battery compartment?
The XV20Q uses a BCI Group 20/20L case measuring about 6.89 × 3.43 × 6.10 inches. Even though it is designed for common powersports applications, always compare the tray dimensions and terminal position before installation.
- • Why does my XV20Q have much less Ah than my old battery?
The XV20Q is rated at only 3Ah, but its lithium-titanate design is listed with a 10Ah AGM-equivalent rating. Amp-hour numbers should therefore not be compared directly without considering the battery chemistry and intended starting application.
- • Can my upgraded alternator damage the XV20Q?
The charging system is an important limitation. XS Power specifies the XV20Q for alternators or stators 150A or less, so an excessively high-output charging system can put the battery outside its intended application.
- • Do I need to buy a lithium-specific charger for this battery?
Not necessarily. XS Power's published information says the XV20Q can be recharged without a special charger, provided the charging system follows the required 13.8–14.0V range for a 12V model.
