Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why doesn't the XV4700 fit my battery tray?
Although it uses Group 47 sizing, tray dimensions and terminal positioning can vary between vehicles, so physical clearance should be checked first.
- • Can my factory alternator charge the XV4700?
Yes, it is designed for stock charging systems, but the charging system must operate within the battery's required voltage range.
- • Why is my XV4700 not holding enough charge?
Check for parasitic drains, poor connections, or charging-system issues before assuming the battery is defective.
- • Why do my factory battery cables not reach?
The M6 terminal arrangement may not match every vehicle's original cable position, so an appropriate terminal adapter or cable adjustment may be needed.
- • Can I use the XV4700 with a large car audio system?
It is intended for systems up to 1,500W; larger audio setups may require a different battery or additional electrical upgrades.
- • Why does the battery get hot under the hood?
Excessive under-hood temperatures can become a concern because prolonged exposure above 140°F can damage the battery and affect warranty coverage.
- • Why does my voltage drop when accessories turn on?
Heavy accessory loads can pull voltage down, especially when wiring, grounding, or charging capacity is inadequate.
- • Is the XV4700 suitable for a stock vehicle?
Yes. XS Power describes it as a 12V LTO battery designed for stock charging systems and compatible with appropriate stock or performance alternators.
- • Why does my new battery still have starting problems?
Check the terminal connections, ground cable, charging output, and parasitic draw before replacing the battery again.
- • What should I do if the XV4700 fails unexpectedly?
Record the battery voltage and inspect the connections and charging system first; some owners have reported difficulties with warranty claims related to low-voltage conditions, so proper diagnosis and documentation are important.
