Why Choose Wet Sounds ZERO 12 S4 XZ-W Marine Subwoofer?
Compact Design, Big Bass Impact
Designed with a shallow-mount profile, this subwoofer delivers powerful bass in small, sealed enclosures, making it ideal for compact marine and vehicle installations. The twist-lock grille conceals mounting hardware yet can be removed for custom or OEM applications, while the two-tone gloss/matte black or white finish adds a sleek, premium look to any setup.
Rugged Construction with Accurate Sound
Built with a high-strength Nylas composite frame, this subwoofer delivers superior durability and long-lasting stability compared to conventional frames. The rigid PMGS composite cone provides precise sound reproduction with minimal distortion, even at high power levels.
Precision Bass with Rugged Reliability
The TPR surround suspension system provides long-lasting durability and smooth, optimal cone movement, while the reinforced Nomex aramid spider ensures precise control and consistent performance in demanding environments. Optimized for a 1cuft sealed enclosure, this subwoofer delivers maximum bass output for compact setups.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • What amplifier should I use for this subwoofer?
A 4-ohm amplifier delivering around 400 watts RMS is a suitable match. Set the gain properly to avoid clipping and distortion.
- • Why does the bass sound weak after installation?
The recommended sealed enclosure volume is approximately 1 cubic foot. Check the enclosure size, air sealing, wiring, and amplifier settings if the bass is weak.
- • Why does the bass distort at high volume?
Excessive gain or amplifier clipping can distort at higher volume levels. Lower the gain and make sure the amplifier provides clean power within the 400-watt RMS rating.
- • What size mounting hole is required?
The recommended cutout is approximately 11.14 inches. Allow about 3.72 inches of mounting depth for proper clearance.
- • Why does the subwoofer rattle during heavy bass?
Loose mounting screws or a flexible mounting surface can create unwanted vibrations. Tighten the hardware and make sure the mounting surface is flat and secure.
- • Why isn't the subwoofer producing any sound?
Check the amplifier power, waterproof connector, speaker wiring, and source signal first. Incorrect connections or amplifier settings can prevent the subwoofer from producing output.
- • Can I use a different sealed enclosure?
Yes, but an enclosure close to the recommended 1 cubic foot volume is preferred. A significantly different volume can change the intended bass response.
- • Why does the bass change after changing the enclosure?
Enclosure volume and air sealing have a direct effect on low-frequency performance. Make sure the replacement enclosure is properly sealed and close to the recommended volume.
- • Can I install it without the grille?
Yes, the included twist-lock grille can be removed for custom or OEM-style installations. Make sure the exposed subwoofer remains protected from physical damage.
- • Is it suitable for marine and powersports use?
It is designed for demanding marine and powersports environments using durable composite materials. Proper installation and protection from excessive water or heat can help maintain long-term performance.
