Why Choose Wet Sounds Sinister-SDX4 4-Channel Amplifier?
Class D Power Supplies combined with MAXED™ Power supply
The MAXED power supply is a Patented technology designed to provide high efficiency levels never thought to be achievable in a mobile audio amplifier. It has less current draw, less strain on the electrical system, and less generated heat. Sinister amplifiers use superior performance circuitry by utilizing Wet Sounds exclusive class-D power supplies combined with Wet Sounds MAXED™ technology.
Share One Size Full Cast Aluminum Chassis
All this results in more play time! The Sinister amplifiers share one size full cast aluminum chassis for all models, making installation a breeze and the ability to have a clean install. Sinister Series amps are on a whole new level above substandard car amps. These high-end marine amplifiers are designed to give you plenty of power while standing up to the harshest marine environment.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why does the amplifier go into protection mode?
Protection can be triggered by low or high voltage, speaker shorts, DC output, or excessive temperature. Check wiring and electrical connections first.
- • What should I check if it suddenly shuts off?
Check battery voltage, ground connections, fuse condition, remote turn-on wiring, and whether the amplifier is overheating under heavy use.
- • Why does the fuse keep blowing?
Repeated fuse failures usually indicate a short, incorrect wiring, damaged speaker connections, or excessive current draw. Inspect the system before replacing fuses.
- • How can I stop the speakers from distorting?
Lower the gain and bass boost, verify the crossover settings, and make sure the speakers are receiving an appropriate amount of power.
- • Can I bridge two channels to power a subwoofer?
Yes. Two channels can be bridged at 4 ohms to provide substantially more power for a compatible subwoofer.
- • Why is there no sound even though the amplifier has power?
Check RCA connections, input-source selection, speaker wiring, gain settings, crossover controls, and the source unit's output.
- • What causes the amplifier to run hot?
Restricted airflow, low speaker impedance, high volume levels, or prolonged heavy loads can increase temperature and activate thermal protection.
- • How should the crossover be set for full-range speakers?
Use Full Range for speakers that should receive the complete signal, or High Pass to reduce low frequencies and improve performance.
- • Why does one channel have little or no output?
Check the RCA input, speaker terminals, gain settings, polarity, and channel configuration. A loose connection can affect only one channel.
- • Can bass boost cause problems with full-range speakers?
Yes. Excessive bass boost can increase distortion and speaker stress. It should be used sparingly and primarily for suitable subwoofer applications.
