Why Choose Wet Sounds WWX-4G RED-125 Wire and Cable?
Maximum Current and Corrosion-Free Power
Built with 100% pure oxygen-free tinned copper, this heavy-duty wire maximizes current transfer while actively fighting off corrosion caused by moisture, salt spray, and extreme weather. Its ultra-fine strand design, wrapped in a soft, flexible red frosted PVC jacket, makes routing through tight spaces effortless while defending against physical abrasion. Meeting strict CEA-2015 and BC-5W2 marine standards, this 125-foot spool provides clean, uninterrupted power delivery for demanding marine, powersports, and custom car audio installations.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Can I use this cable for both power and ground?
Yes, the 4-gauge conductor is designed for amplifier power and ground distribution. Choose the correct fuse and connection hardware for your amplifier.
- • Why does the cable get warm during heavy use?
Excessive heat can indicate high current demand or a poor connection. Check the terminals and confirm the cable is properly sized for the system.
- • Is this suitable for boats and powersports vehicles?
Yes, it is designed for marine, powersports, and custom audio installations. The jacket is built to resist moisture, vibration, and environmental wear.
- • Why does my power connection keep developing corrosion?
The conductor uses oxygen-free copper with a tinned construction for improved corrosion resistance. Exposed terminals should still be sealed and protected from moisture.
- • Why is the cable difficult to route through tight spaces?
The fine-strand construction and flexible PVC jacket are designed to make routing easier. Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling during installation.
- • Why am I still experiencing voltage drop with 4-gauge wire?
Long runs, high current demand, or poor connections can still cause voltage loss. Check the entire power and ground path for excessive resistance.
- • Is 125 feet enough for a complete audio installation?
The spool provides 125 feet of 4-gauge cable for power or ground runs. Measure your planned routes before cutting to avoid running short.
- • Why is the red color useful during installation?
The high-visibility red jacket makes power runs easier to identify. Clear polarity identification can also help reduce wiring mistakes during installation.
