Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Can I use these tweeters with my factory car stereo?
Yes, they can work with many factory head units when installed properly. An aftermarket amplifier can further improve clarity and dynamic range.
- • Why do the highs sound too sharp after installation?
This is usually caused by aggressive EQ settings or the tweeters being aimed directly at the listener. Adjusting the equalizer or changing the mounting angle often produces a smoother sound.
- • Do these tweeters need a crossover, or can I wire them straight to my amp?
These should always be run through a crossover or capacitor to block low frequencies, since sending a full-range signal directly can blow the tweeter almost instantly.
- • Why is one tweeter quieter than the other?
This is commonly caused by loose wiring, incorrect polarity, or a faulty connection. Inspecting the wiring and crossover connections usually resolves the issue.
- • Where is the best place to mount these tweeters?
Most installers recommend the factory sail panels or A-pillars for optimal sound staging. Proper placement improves stereo imaging and listening accuracy.
- • Can I flush-mount these, or do they only work as surface-mount pods?
These tweeters are versatile and can be installed either flush-mounted into a panel or used with the included surface-mount pod for angled placement. Flush mounting typically gives a cleaner factory look but requires more cutting and fabrication.
- • Why do the tweeters distort when the volume is high?
Distortion is often caused by amplifier clipping or improper gain settings. Proper tuning helps maintain clean, detailed highs at louder listening levels.
- • Can I install these tweeters myself?
Yes, many DIY enthusiasts install them with basic hand tools and careful wiring. Following the installation instructions helps ensure reliable performance.
- • Will these improve vocal clarity and instrument detail?
Yes, upgraded tweeters reproduce high frequencies more accurately than most factory speakers. Many users notice clearer vocals, brighter cymbals, and improved instrument separation.
- • Will these tweeters overpower my factory door speakers?
Not if properly leveled — tweeters are designed to handle only the highest frequencies while your mids or midbass handle the rest, so overall volume balance depends on your gain and crossover settings.

These tweeters will surely pierce through your ears if you push dem too hard. I love how it blends with the mids and bass at the right amount of volume but its great for SPL setups too if you're into that.
