Why Choose Rockford Fosgate P300-12T Powered Subwoofer?
With Built-in Amplifier
The Punch 300-12T is a self-contained subwoofer enclosure with a built-in amplifier. This "all in one" solution is great for systems that need extra Punch on the low-end of the frequency spectrum. The 12" high-output subwoofer is impedance-optimized for the built-in 300-watt class-D amplifier that features a low-pass crossover, bass EQ, and phase switch.
Designed and Constructed Using MDF
The enclosure can be connected via speaker-level inputs for connection to factory systems, or traditional line-level inputs for aftermarket systems. It also features an intelligent auto turn-on/off circuit that eliminates the need for a separate turn-on wire. The enclosure itself is precision-designed and constructed using MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) for the best acoustical properties and covered with a heat-activated vinyl finish to resist marks.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why is there no bass after installation?
Check the power, ground, input signal, and gain settings. Make sure all connections are secure and the unit is receiving a clean audio signal.
- • Why does the bass sound distorted?
Lower the gain and bass boost slightly. Excessive input levels, clipping, or aggressive settings can cause distortion at higher listening volumes.
- • Why does it shut off at high volume?
Low voltage, overheating, or excessive input levels can trigger protection. Check the power connections, amplifier settings, and available electrical supply.
- • Why is the bass weaker than expected?
Check the gain, crossover, polarity, and placement carefully. Incorrect settings, wiring, or enclosure placement can reduce the overall bass response significantly.
- • Why does it make a popping sound?
Popping can result from signal problems, loose connections, or incorrect gain settings. Check the input, power wiring, and source connections carefully.
- • Why do I hear engine noise through the subwoofer?
Engine noise may be caused by grounding or signal interference. Check the ground connection and keep signal cables away from power wiring.
- • Why does the bass cut out while driving?
Loose power, ground, or signal connections can cause intermittent output. Inspect the wiring carefully and secure all terminals and connections properly.
- • Can it work with a factory stereo?
Yes, depending on the vehicle and available signal connections. Confirm the correct input method and compatibility with the factory audio system first.
- • Why does the enclosure get very hot?
Some heat is normal, but excessive heat can indicate poor ventilation or prolonged high output. Allow adequate airflow around the unit during operation.
- • What should I check if it suddenly stops working?
Check the fuse, power and ground connections, input signal, and protection indicator. Inspect for loose, damaged, or disconnected wiring before testing again.
