Camera Plug and Play Harness and Mounting Kit
This is a vehicle specific installation kit for the MX-CAM, purpose-built for select Polaris® RZR® models. The included T-harness allows for easy, error proof electrical connections. An included hole saw allows for fitment on RZR® 2014 – 2018 models, allowing for direct fitment on 2019 and newer models. The harness plugs directly into PMX-3 and PMX-8 source units with an integrated trigger wire, and the included red/blue backlit rocker snaps into an open slot in the RZR14-DK providing instant camera view.

- • Why doesn't the MX-CAM-RZR14 include the actual backup camera?
The MX-CAM-RZR14 is the vehicle-specific mounting and wiring kit, not the camera itself. A matching Rockford Fosgate MX-CAM must be purchased separately, which can easily be overlooked when ordering.
- • Why do I need a hole saw for my RZR?
RZR models from 2014–2018 require a 19 mm (0.75-inch) hole for the camera installation, and the kit supplies the appropriate hole saw. RZR models from 2019 and newer use the factory-equipped mounting hole instead.
- • Why doesn't my camera have power when I put the RZR in reverse?
The T-harness receives power through the RZR's taillight connection, while the PMX-3 and PMX-8 setups use an additional trigger connection for automatic camera activation. A loose taillight connection or trigger wire can therefore prevent the camera from switching on.
- • Why does the camera work manually but not switch on automatically?
The included rocker switch provides manual camera control, while the PMX source units use the integrated trigger wire for automatic activation in reverse. If manual operation works but reverse activation does not, the trigger connection should be checked first.
- • Why am I getting a black or blank screen even though the camera has power?
The MX-CAM-RZR14 sends video through a standard male RCA composite-video connection. If the camera has power but the display is blank, verify the RCA connection and make sure the receiving source has a compatible video input selected.
- • Can I use this harness with a different backup camera?
The MX-CAM-RZR14 is specifically designed around the Rockford Fosgate MX-CAM, and Rockford lists the matching MX-CAM as required. A different camera may use different wiring, power requirements, or video connections and is therefore not guaranteed to work as intended.
- • Why doesn't the mounting hole line up on my older RZR?
The installation method changes by model year. 2014–2018 RZRs require the supplied hole saw, while 2019+ models use the factory hole, so attempting to install the camera using the newer mounting method on an older RZR can cause alignment problems.
- • Why isn't the camera showing the image in the direction I expected?
The compatible MX-CAM has a switchable mirror/normal image setting, allowing it to be configured for rear- or front-facing installation. If the picture appears reversed, the camera's image orientation should be checked rather than assuming the camera is defective.
- • Do I need a PMX-3 or PMX-8 receiver to use the MX-CAM-RZR14?
Not necessarily. The camera provides composite video through an RCA connection and can connect to a source unit with a video input. However, the dedicated PMX integration adds the trigger functionality for automatic camera activation.
- • Why does the installation seem easier than a custom camera setup?
The kit uses a vehicle-specific T-harness that connects at the taillight, a prewired switch, and model-specific mounting hardware.
