- • Why does my RZR need factory Ride Command for this system?
The RZR14RC-STG4 is built around the Polaris Ride Command source, using a dedicated two-way interface to integrate the upgraded audio system. If your RZR does not have Ride Command, this particular kit is not the correct configuration.
- • Why won't the Stage 4 fit my RZR Pro XP?
The model name can be confusing because the kit covers select older RZR platforms, but it is specifically not compatible with the RZR PRO XP or XP 4. A Pro XP owner should use a platform-specific system instead.
- • Why can't I install the subwoofer if my RZR has the factory heater?
The front subwoofer enclosure occupies the same general area used by the Polaris under-dash heater. Because of this physical conflict, versions of the kit containing the subwoofer are not compatible with that heater option.
- • Why does the dash installation look different on my 2014–2018 RZR?
Earlier RZR models require the lower pocket assembly supplied with the dash kit, along with the larger amplifier bracket included with the amp mounting kit. Using the wrong mounting pieces can make the installation appear incorrect.
- • Why is installing this system taking longer than a normal speaker upgrade?
Although the kit uses plug-and-play wiring and vehicle-specific enclosures, installation involves removing seats and dashboard panels, disconnecting the factory amplifier, routing wiring, installing the subwoofer and rear moto-cans, mounting the amplifier, connecting Ride Command, and testing the complete system.
- • Why isn't the sound as powerful as I expected from an 800-watt system?
The Stage 4 uses an 800-watt four-channel amplifier, but the actual listening experience depends on the complete system, installation, source level, speaker positioning, and amplifier configuration. An 800-watt rating should not be interpreted as 800 watts continuously delivered to every speaker.
- • What should I check if the speakers work but the subwoofer has very little output?
Check the subwoofer wiring, amplifier connections, and system configuration first. The kit uses a dedicated 10-inch DVC subwoofer and an 800-watt amplifier, so unusually weak bass can point toward a connection or configuration issue rather than simply a lack of subwoofer capability.
- • Why are the Color Optix lights not working even though the audio plays?
The RGB lighting has its own PMX-RGB Color Optix controller and wiring. If the speakers produce sound normally but the illumination does not respond, inspect the controller connection and RGB harness separately from the audio wiring.
- • Can I install the kit without cutting or drilling my RZR?
The system is designed around direct-fit enclosures, OEM-style mounting locations, and plug-and-play harnesses, so cutting and drilling are not normally required. However, correct model-specific brackets and mounting hardware are essential for a proper installation.
- • Why does the system need so many connections if it is advertised as plug-and-play?
“Plug-and-play” refers to the vehicle-specific connectors and installation approach, not to having only a few connections. The Stage 4 combines Ride Command integration, front speakers, rear moto-cans, a subwoofer, amplifier, power wiring, and RGB lighting, so several dedicated connections are naturally required.
