Ranger Stage-3
This is is an aftermarket 800-watts M1 Color Optix™ front audio system with subwoofer. This kit upgrades you to the PMX-2 color screen multi-media source unit, featuring Pandora® internet radio. The M5 800-watt 4-channel amplifier has plenty of power to drive the 6.5” front speakers on the front channels and the 10” subwoofer bridged on the rear channels. The system is designed for select 2018 and newer XP 1000 FULL-SIZE (3-seat) and CREW (6-seat) models.

- • Why does the RNGR18-STG3 not fit my Ranger even though it is a 2018 model?
The kit is intended for select 2018+ Ranger XP 1000 full-size and Crew models. Smaller Ranger variants and different chassis configurations can have completely different mounting points, so the exact model matters more than the year alone.
- • Why is my factory Ride Command missing after installing this system?
The standard RNGR18-STG3 uses the PMX-2 receiver as its source unit. If retaining factory Ride Command is important, a Ride Command-specific Ranger Stage system should be selected instead of the standard STG3.
- • Why does my subwoofer take up less space than a normal aftermarket box?
The included RNGR18-FWE is a vehicle-specific 10-inch ported enclosure designed to fit the Ranger without sacrificing passenger space. Its molded shape is intended to use the available factory area rather than requiring a large universal enclosure.
- • Why does the system sound different when I change the amplifier settings?
The M5-800X4 amplifier is pre-tuned for the Stage 3 system, so Rockford Fosgate says no initial adjustments are required. Changing settings can move the system away from the factory-tuned balance between the front speakers and bridged subwoofer.
- • Why is my subwoofer not hitting as hard as expected?
The subwoofer is powered from the amplifier's bridged rear channels, so wiring and polarity are important. If the bass seems unusually weak, check the subwoofer connections and amplifier configuration before assuming the 10-inch woofer is defective.
- • Why does the installation still take time if it is advertised as plug-and-play?
Plug-and-play refers to the preconfigured harnesses and vehicle-specific connections, not the amount of physical work involved. Installing the receiver, speaker pods, amplifier, subwoofer enclosure, power kit, and RGB controller still requires access to several areas of the Ranger.
- • Why aren't my Color Optix lights working even though the speakers play normally?
The RGB lighting uses the separate PMX-RGB controller and RF Connect App. Because lighting and audio connections are not identical, music can work correctly while a disconnected RGB harness or controller prevents the speaker illumination from responding.
- • Why does the system seem quieter once I'm actually driving?
A powerful audio system can still be masked by engine, tire, wind, and trail noise. The RNGR18-STG3 uses an 800-watt amplifier and dedicated subwoofer, but perceived loudness while moving will naturally differ from listening while parked.
- • Can I add another subwoofer to the RNGR18-STG3 later?
The STG3 amplifier configuration does not support adding a rear secondary subwoofer. The documented upgrade path allows the existing front subwoofer to be replaced, while additional-subwoofer configurations are intended for higher-stage systems with different amplifier capabilities.
- • Can the RNGR18-STG3 handle mud, rain, and rough trail conditions?
The system uses Rockford Fosgate's Element Ready components, designed for water, dirt, mud, UV exposure, and vibration. The amplifier is also IPX6 rated, making the package purpose-built for demanding off-road environments rather than ordinary indoor-style audio use.
