Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • What amplifier should I use with this subwoofer?
A 4-ohm amplifier delivering around 400 watts RMS is a suitable match. Make sure the amplifier is stable at 4 ohms for reliable performance.
- • Why does the bass sound weak after installation?
Incorrect enclosure size, gain settings, or wiring can reduce bass output. Check the enclosure design and amplifier settings before adjusting the subwoofer.
- • Why does the bass distort at high volume?
Excessive gain or amplifier clipping can distort at higher volume levels. Lower the gain and make sure the amplifier provides clean power.
- • Why isn't the subwoofer producing any sound?
Check the amplifier power, audio signal, fuse, and speaker wiring. Also verify that the connections are secure and the 4-ohm load is wired correctly.
- • What type of enclosure should I use?
This subwoofer is designed for use in a ported enclosure rather than a free-air installation. Using a properly sized enclosure helps provide the intended bass response.
- • Why does the enclosure rattle during heavy bass?
Loose mounting hardware or inadequate enclosure bracing can create unwanted vibrations. Tighten the hardware and inspect the enclosure for loose panels or components.
- • Why is there excessive cone movement?
Incorrect enclosure tuning, excessive amplifier gain, or very low frequencies can cause excessive excursion. Check the enclosure design and reduce the amplifier gain if necessary.
- • Will it fit my existing enclosure?
The subwoofer requires an 11.26-inch cutout and has approximately 6.53 inches of mounting depth. Measure the enclosure opening and internal clearance before installation.
- • Why does the bass change after changing the enclosure?
Enclosure volume and port tuning can significantly affect bass response. Use an enclosure designed for this subwoofer to maintain proper performance.
- • Can it handle marine and outdoor conditions?
The construction is designed for marine and powersports environments with moisture- and UV-resistant materials. Proper installation and regular inspection can help maintain reliable performance.
