Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why does the JVC receiver forget my settings after the KRX1000 is turned off
Check the receiver's constant-power and switched-power connections. If the memory wire is not receiving continuous power, saved settings and preferences may disappear whenever the vehicle is shut down.
- • Why does the backup camera stay black even though the JVC display turns on?
Verify the camera video connection and reverse-trigger wire separately. The included JVC receiver supports a backup camera, so a blank image can result from the camera signal or reverse-input connection rather than the display itself.
- • Why does the audio suddenly sound different when I switch from RIDE to ROCK?
The change is intentional. The Phase EQ amplifier uses different DSP profiles: RIDE compensates for wind, engine noise, and helmet use, while ROCK is tuned for listening outside the vehicle.
- • What happens if the subwoofer is connected to the wrong amplifier channel?
The system uses a dedicated 5-channel amplifier with a separate subwoofer channel. Incorrect channel connections can result in reduced bass, unusual output, or an improperly balanced system, so the amplifier wiring should match the supplied installation diagram.
- • Why do the speaker lights stay on one color even when I try to change them?
Check the RGB controller and lighting connectors independently from the speaker wiring. The audio system can continue playing normally even when the RGB-control side has a connection or controller issue.
- • Could an aftermarket light bar or cage accessory block the front speaker-pod installation?
Yes. Although the speaker enclosures are vehicle-specific, previously installed cage accessories can occupy nearby mounting or routing areas. Inspect the available space before securing the pods rather than forcing them into position.
- • Why does the JVC connect to a different phone instead of the one I normally use?
Multiple previously paired devices can create connection confusion when more than one phone is present. Remove unused pairings or manually select the desired device from the receiver before starting playback.
- • Why does the audio system appear to struggle when several accessories are running at the same time?
The Phase EQ amplifier can draw up to 60 amps, so the vehicle's electrical system and installation wiring need to be in good condition. Weak battery voltage, poor connections, or excessive accessory demand can affect amplifier operation.
- • Why does the 10-inch subwoofer produce a buzzing or rattling sound over rough terrain?
Inspect the enclosure mounting points, subwoofer fasteners, grille, and nearby KRX1000 panels. Off-road vibration can make a loose mounting point sound like a damaged speaker even when the driver itself is functioning normally.
- • Can I use the KX-Q3V1 if I have a four-seat KRX model?
No. The KX-Q3V1 is specifically designed around the 2-seat KRX1000, and the vehicle-specific enclosures and mounting locations should not be assumed to transfer to a 4-seat model.
