- • Why does the amplifier stay off even though the JVC receiver powers up?
A common installation point to check is the amplifier's dedicated power and ground wiring. The RG4-Q5V1 uses a separate amplifier power/ground harness, fuse holder, and battery connection, so a loose battery terminal, ground, or fuse connection can prevent the amplifier from operating.
- • Why is there no bass even though all four 6.5-inch speakers are playing?
The 10-inch subwoofer is powered through the system's 5-channel amplifier. If the main speakers work but the subwoofer does not, check the amplifier's subwoofer connection and settings before assuming the subwoofer itself is defective.
- • Why do the front speakers fit differently from the rear speaker pods?
The RG4-Q5V1 uses different vehicle-specific enclosures for the front kick locations and rear cage positions. The front speakers use kick speaker pods, while the rear speakers use RGB cage-mount pods, so their mounting appearance and installation process are not identical.
- • Why does the audio change noticeably when I flip the Rock/Ride switch?
The system includes pre-tuned ROCK and RIDE audio profiles. Ride mode compensates for wind, engine noise, and helmet-related sound loss, while Rock mode is intended to provide a fuller sound profile when the Ranger is parked.
- • What should I check if the RGB speaker lights work but the speakers have no sound?
The lighting and audio functions use different components. Since the kit includes a dedicated RGB light controller along with the amplifier and speakers, working LEDs do not necessarily confirm that the audio signal or amplifier connections are correct.
