Compact Power and Versatile Performance
Delivering 800 watts RMS and 3200 watts max power, this subwoofer produces deep, controlled bass even in space-limited vehicles. Its dual 4-ohm voice coils offer flexible wiring for optimal power or multi-sub setups, while the high-performance 3-inch copper voice coil efficiently dissipates heat, ensuring consistent, distortion-free output during extended high-power sessions.
Precision Engineering and Compact Power
Designed for tight spaces, this subwoofer features a vented motor structure and 56-ounce magnet that enhance airflow, prevent overheating, and deliver precise, responsive bass with higher sensitivity. Its ultra-rigid, shallow-mount 3-inch design ensures clean, vibration-free performance while maintaining structural integrity, making it perfect for compact installations behind seats or under floors.
Innovative Rebuildable Shallow Subwoofer
Introducing the world’s first fully reconable shallow-mount subwoofer, engineered for easy maintenance and long-term reliability by allowing soft parts to be replaced without swapping the entire unit. Featuring exclusive patent-pending technology, it combines ultra-slim mounting depth with rebuildable versatility, setting a new benchmark for performance and durability in compact installations.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why does my XTRPRO-SW12D4 sound different after switching enclosure types?
The XTRPRO-SW12D4 is designed for compact sealed or custom shallow enclosures, so enclosure volume and construction can noticeably change its bass response.
- • Why am I not getting the same bass impact as other XTRPRO installations?
A real customer reported strong output from a pair of XTRPRO shallow subwoofers, showing that amplifier power, enclosure design, and the number of drivers can substantially affect perceived output.
- • What impedance will I get when both voice coils are connected together?
The XTRPRO-SW12D4 uses dual 4-ohm voice coils, allowing a parallel connection for a 2-ohm final load or a series connection for an 8-ohm load.
- • Why does the subwoofer seem too quiet with an amplifier that has plenty of wattage?
The XTRPRO-SW12D4 has an efficiency rating around 84 dB, so amplifier power, enclosure loading, signal level, and vehicle acoustics all influence its actual output.
- • Why is my shallow enclosure still not deep enough for the speaker?
Although the subwoofer has an exceptionally short 3-inch mounting depth, the enclosure still needs adequate internal clearance behind the motor and terminals.
- • What could make the XTRPRO-SW12D4 bottom out during heavy bass?
Improper enclosure design, excessive amplifier output, or sending frequencies outside the intended operating range can cause excessive cone movement and mechanical stress.
- • Why does my single XTRPRO-SW12D4 not sound as powerful as a dual-sub setup?
Adding a second subwoofer increases the available cone area and can substantially increase overall acoustic output; one verified Orion customer reported very strong results from two XTRPRO shallow subwoofers.
- • Why is the bass weaker after changing the wiring configuration
Changing the dual 4-ohm coils from series to parallel changes the final impedance from 8 ohms to 2 ohms, which can alter how much power the amplifier delivers.
- • Can the XTRPRO-SW12D4 handle extended high-volume listening?
Its 800W RMS rating, 3-inch copper voice coil, and vented motor structure are designed for sustained high-power operation, although amplifier gain and thermal conditions still need to be properly managed.
- • Why does this 12-inch subwoofer fit where a conventional 12-inch woofer won't?
The XTRPRO-SW12D4 uses a 3-inch mounting depth and an approximately 11.81-inch cutout, allowing it to fit installations where a conventional deep-basket 12-inch subwoofer may not have enough clearance.
