The 20–40% mica-reinforced polypropylene curvilinear cone improves rigidity and sonic accuracy for cleaner, more natural audio reproduction. Co-molded basket terminals provide secure and stable electrical connections, while the 15% glass-fiber reinforced PA66 composite basket offers strong, lightweight structural durability. The chemically bonded co-molded surround and cone body enhances mechanical reliability, and the linear Nomex® spider delivers high fatigue resistance for stable performance even during extended high-output listening sessions.
Ultra-flexible braided tinsel leads are securely stitched to the spider for reliable internal wiring and long-term durability. The vented Kapton® voice coil former helps improve heat dissipation, supporting stable performance during extended listening sessions. A high-strength Y35 ferrite motor structure—5 mm larger than the previous generation—provides stronger magnetic control for more powerful output. The overhung voice coil design helps reduce distortion by maintaining consistent magnetic flux, while copper spring contact tweeter cups allow convenient front-panel servicing using the included tool.
The threaded tweeter cup allows simple flush mounting in 3/8" panels using a 1.5" hole-saw cutout for a clean and secure installation. When the tweeter is placed in a separate cup, the included woofer phase plug helps improve acoustic performance. The removable motor cover supports installation in tight mounting spaces, while the ICC+ crossover system offers flexible tuning with an internal 6 dB crossover, optional 12 dB external crossover, and selectable -3 dB tweeter attenuation. A 2-pin micro-Molex crossover connector can be secured using screws or zip ties for reliable wiring. The package includes mounting hardware and a cut-out template, is sold as a pair, and compatible grilles are available separately.
