  • Man, if you want ur system sounding hot you gotta get this amp. I have this amp wired to 2x JL 10"W0's and man does it hit. I couldn't beleive how hard it made my subs hit with only 250 rms. JL gets a little pricey, but its worth it. If you are getting any kind of low power subs... get this amp for sure.

  • Great performance! Using it with 2 12JLW0's. No clipping or loss of quality noticable even at really loud volumes.

  • I was sorta mad I didnt go for the 500/1 the other day, but every time I get in my ride I forget about it. I bought this amp after going thru Kenwood, MTX, Sony, Pioneer, R. F., etc etc. None of them could handle runnin how loud i wanted, and I wasted too much time money and patience. Its HOT in texas, and you NEED to get JL's. This thing only goes into thermal if you play obscene amounts of peak level bass for about 30 minutes in 100 degree weather. I've had it for a little over a year now and although Im considering moving up to the 500/1, the bass is so damn good I just dont know (Money is the only real issue). This little guy is running 2 Audiobahn High Excursion 12's (dual 4 ohm's) and when I first got it all together I could not beleive it. The only system I've heard louder than this (note: rides I've actually been in, not just seen) is my friend who has 2 MTX 8000 12's running off of a MTX 1000 watt mono amp...huge gigantic costly setup and i swear to god JL can make an amp this small rival that. I have to take my car to go get the taillights reinstalled, the bass has 50 percent knocked them out of their sockets. My rear view is out of order since it's fallen off about 30 times.... Bottom line, if you love amazing bass, and are sick and tired of going through crappy products that cant do anything they say they can, buy JL. Sorry for all of the rambling, but hopefully this will help someone out who is in the situation i was. Peace

  • i have this amp hooked up to 2 w3v2s and i blew one of the voice coils and that was with just 125 watts going to it so you can imagine what it would be like if i had the 300/2, but thats not in my budget right now. So if u want a amp to get ur car a step up while on a budget this amp probabily ur best bet.

  • This is a re-review of the amp I have come to love. I stated in an earlier review that this amp goes into thermal protection. Well, after a long discussion with a professional, I came to the realization that my crappy Audiobahn subs are at fault. The reason? Audiobahn (as well as lightning audio and other cheap brands) subs send current back to the amplifier. Everytime the bass hit hard the Low ohm light on my amp would blink. This made the amp get hot quick, and to protect itself it would go into thermal. He showed me in the store with some W3's how the low ohm light never blinks with the proper subwoofers. Thankfully, I ordered 2 12'' W3's so my problem will be solved. With the thermal heat problem out of the way, I cannot stress how great this amplifier is. It will pound the hell out of any sub you hook it up to. Some people think itll only push 125 watts to each sub, but its actually pushing 250 to each. Same goes for the 500/1 pushing 500 to each, so on and so forth. If it had only pushed 250 total I would have never bought it. The system is so loud I cannot imagine it being only 125 to each sub-the last amp I had pushed 150 to each channel and it was no where near this loud. Needless to say, I cannot wait until the UPS truck rolls up with my W3's. Check the RMS on your subs, and make sure theyre a good brand like JL, and buy this amp.

  • This is a great amp! I switched from a MC1000D and a 12" MOJO to a 250/1 and a 13W1V2 and I gotta say this system sounds cleaner, hits pretty hard, and with only 1/4 the power it makes my alternator happy. Just don't let the price scare you away; this is an amp to hold on to.

  • I really like my amp. I have 2 kicker comp VR 12's. I have had my amp for 4 years. It has never messed up or acted funny. My subs sound so good. For a little amp it does great. If I was going to buy another small amp, wouldn't chose anything else. Thank You

  • I have this amplifier and i have 2 sony xplod competition subs and oh my gosh does this thing hit! i was amazed because i went from a 500 watt jensen to this and it made one big difference and who says size is everything. I have mine hidden and no one can see it.

  • I put this amp with 2 10" JL W3's. It sounds great very clear and crisp. For any other subs this amp is perfect but if you have good quality JL subs I'd go with the 500-1 I wish I would have it's only a little more money but a lot more power.

  • JL amps. the best.the 250/1 is underrated, like they brothers 500- 1000/1. of course, many good brands on amplifiers, give the same or more power, for less money, but when it comes to high quality on a vey clean bass, very hard hitting bass, the same power output from 4-1.5 ohms, and from 11 to 14 volts, there's no audio brand out there that could beat JL high quality amplifiers.

  • at 2 ohm this amp doesnt impress me, i dont have the speakers to wire it up for 1.5 ohms. its an alright amp, that will give a lil bump at 2 ohm but for that price, naw... thing is i dont like about jl audio is if you buy their speakers or amps, the whole system gotta be JL to get the maximum performance. maybe this is a good amp at 1.5 ohms but its a really high on the price, i heard better for a lower price

  • If your not happy with power at 2 ohm run a Line driver and give give it aroun 6 volts input you will be pleasantly surprised at the difference . Most decks only about 2 volts RCA signal at the deck by the time you run your RCA to your trunk you are getting around 1 volt
