  • Great speakers. They handle power with ease and can reproduce any note that I put through them. Absolutely the best door speakers that I have purchased in 10 + years and five different vehicles.

  • This was a great sounding product until one of the tweeters failed on my set of M661's. I also had another tweeter fail on a set of M341 components. These were driven by a Diamond Audio D7504 (50x4 rms). I guess $200 speakers that last 1.5yrs isn't so bad... I have qualms about buying DA stuff again though.

  • Been running these in the front doors of a 2000 GMC Sierra, was a fairly easy install (for me) and they sound great. Only had MB Quarts several years ago to compare with. Pretty sweet, nice and loud. Produce sound just great, major improvement over stock GM components.

  • Got a good deal on these at $200. Blew 2 tweeters w/in 2 months. This is a common problem from what I hear. Compared them side by side with Boston Accoustics 6.5 mid line and the Bostons blew them away. Running off of 200W Zapco Reference amp. Would be weary of buying these unless priced under $150/pr.

  • I've been using these for about a year with 5 1/4" as rear fill. I've yet to find another speaker that produces the mid bass like these. You really need to put at least 100 watts to make them shine. Voices actually resonate and bass strings are well defined. As much as they'll play at deafening volumes, I've built my system for sonic accuracy. I've matched them with the D12 sub and D5 amps for all. I compared them to Focal, MB Quart, Boston and Polk. Due to an in-store family discount, cost was not really a determining factor. I was able to choose based on quality, not budget. If you need a downside; you'll suddenly notice poorly recorded music (not the speaker's fault). My head unit has 5 EQ presets, which I have to use depending on the type of music I'm listening to. They're crystal clear for Metallica's "And Justice For All..." or Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana". Try those on other speakers. Hope this helps.

  • I like my 6.5 diamond audio speakers because they are very crisp and the mid range is excellent. I have a set of focals and they seem to be a little bit better but cost a lot more. I have bought two sets since I bought the focals. Running alpine amps one set and jl's on the other. I haven't had any problems with blowing any tweeters but I am going to buy a set of xrjl.audio to compare. Very good speakers for the money.

  • I had the D Series speakers for several years before I blew the tweeter. This is a common problem wit Diamond Audio speakers. I worked in a shop that sold these speakers constantly, and people were always coming back for replacement tweeters. Great speakers, but tweeters could be better.

  • Do not buy these speakers if you plan on using an ipod connection to your radio. I noticed time and time again the speakers sound horrible when playing my ipod music. * I have a direct connection from my ipod to my headunit* . The radio and cd music sounds a bit better but in all honesty after about 2 years of having these speakers, it's time to switch. I constantly hear buddies systems who have much better SQ with cheaper speakers. I was running a diamond D5600.4 , until I decided to upgrade to a kicker zx650.4 and the speakers were a bit louded but not by much, so I've decided to switch speakers that can actually handle 100watt rms.
