these subs pounded loud and clear in a sealed box with a good amp. for the price i think they slam. get some good power to them and keep the distortion away and they will last!
i have (2) 12" ss autotek subs in a sealed box, powered by an autotek ss290.2 amp and it pushes really hard. when people ask me what i have in the trunk and i show them. the sound they hear is only comming from a 200 watt amp from autotek. they tell me that it sounds more like a 600 watt system, but its only 200 watts, it really pounds!!!!!
the ss sub pounds realy hard i have mine in an spl box and a 1600 watt logic amp powering itis in my 1998 escourt and the windsheild wipers jump 2 inches when it hit bass
First I think they could have done a better job where you hooked them up,and the foam surround could have been made better ,but after you or I got over that ,they are not a bad sounding sub. I had bought one of the older ones that were blue. I had it laying in my closet and had never used it . I just bought it because I got it for $50 brand new and thought I might need it some day.8 years latter my daughter wanted some bass in her car so I rememeber I had that autotek 12" woofer in my closet ,so I build a ported box for it and hooked up a old Autotek mean machine 90Xi that puts out around 450 watts .Dam I was surprise of how it was shakeing everthingwas a clean deep bass and to say the least it sounded great for a 8 year old woofer. I would say if you buy these you want be dissapointed.
