Product Reviews For Hifonics BX 2200D

  • I HAVE THIS AMP AND 4 TYPE R 12s IN SEALED CUSTOM BOXES AND HIT 148.1 WITH RAP MUSIC AND 150.3 WITH BASS CDs. THE AMP IS BEING RAN ABOUT .5 OHMs AND BARELY GETS HOT. IF YOU HAVE THE GOOD SPEAKERS I WOULD RECAMEND THIS AMP!!!!

  • This amp is very powerful. I have it connected to a 12in Type X sub. It pounds harder then my MRD-M1001. For that person that says he has it running about .5 ohm. This amp isn't .5 ohm stable. It would work for awhile but after that it will heat-up. Also you said you have 4 Type R's connected to. Having 4 of them connected don't even go down to .5 ohms. If they are DVC 2ohm, then it would be 1 ohm load and if they are DVC 4ohm, it would be 2 ohm load. So don't even bullshit okay.

  • Its an awesome amp. If you have 4 DVC subs, and you wired them all in parallel, then that would all wire up to a .25 ohm load. Every time you wire a dual voice coil sub in parallel, it cuts in independence in half. So 2+2=1. This would mean that 1+1=.5, then .5+.5=.25. Plus this size amplifier is not really a true D class, but more of a D class and a high current mix.

  • I have to admit that this amp really does put out a crap ton of power, but for it being a 3 year old style amp it should go for less. Hifonics makes good quality amps that put out tons of power for way less than the other popular name brands. I have this amp pushing 2 Eclipse Titanium 15" subs in a 2005 GMC Yukon XL and OH MY GOODNESS!!! The subs hit so hard that I can barely even take the pounding of the bass. Whenever I drive around town I'm setting car alarms off left and right. I don't even have the amp turned up all the way and frankly I'm kind of afraid to even turn it up all the way. lol If you plan on purchasing one of these babies it will be well worth it, but I suggest that you buy extra amounts of sound dampening and have enough battery power to feed this beast because your vehicle will rattle like hell and it sucks down a lot of battery juice.
