Product Reviews For Sony MEX-1GP

  • This stereo is a true sony product. 1 Gig of memory, you can't beat that with a bat.

  • this is an incredible idea and instead of having an i-pod and having to buy the $200 adapter kit you have a 1 gb memory for $299 but i got mine online for $249.95. the sound quality is awsome, crisp clear tunes and the display is easy to see. i switched my pioneer deh-4800 with the mex-1gp and im impressed. i have it hooked up in my cadillac sts with 4 15" subwoofers in the trunk and a cutom 8 speaker surround. but the draw back to me is that it is kind of boring to look at. i was deciding on a kenwood with downloadable pictures but i am glad on my choice.

  • A well designed head unit that takes mp3s one step further, allowing you to directly download them onto the faceplace. I have owned nothing but Alpine previously, but do not regret this purchase. The one item they could have improved on is the memory stick is pc based. My Mac works fine, but if I let the last song in a file play right to the end, it gets stuck there and I must reburn or hit the reset button on the deck. I get around that by making the last song the same for every file as a cue to skip to the next file. For me, other than that, it's flawless.

  • I have been using mine for over a year now. It works great and I love the features. I have it hooked up to three amps for front, back and sub in an Explorer. Plenty of preamp power. My only issue would be more memory- I get about 10 cd's on it- Its perfect for use off road where the CD would get beat up.

  • Unbelievable product. This unit is a huge step up from the no-name aftermarket that came with my car. Giga Panel is awesome. No more searching for CD's! Sound quality and sound settings are great. Can't wait to hook up my CVX subs with this!! OCS has great prices too by the way
