  • I'm stunned by how much punch these have. Talk about an overlooked product at a great price! I mounted one of these in a 6th-Order 4.5 cf bandpass box (12dB gain tuned at 40Hz and 65Hz) pointed it rearward in my PT Cruiser and hooked them up to my Pioneer Amp. I could only hook them up in 8 ohm bridged to the amp so it is only getting 190 Watts RMS and 380 Peak and still it's pushing over 130dB! I don't even have my rear 6x9s installed yet. I've now decided to use the Pioneer amp for the 6x9s and I'm looking to get a 2 ohm mono amp at 500 RMS and drive this sub properly. First track after hooking it up was Metalica's And Justice for All. Kick drums are stunningly loud and will make your years numb after a short time. My rear view mirror is all but useless anymore from the shaking! For comparison, My brother-in-law is running a Kicker S15L5 in a 4cf slot ported box driven at well over 750 Watts RMS and is at 136dB. He refuses to believe that mine is only at 190 Watts RMS even after I talked to Pioneer tech support and verified the 8 ohm output power specs. With the right amp I should be able to match his in max SPL. Although his does reach another 10Hz lower, for me it's not worth spending another $750. I just want to see the look on his face when mine hits the same SPL as his for a third the price.

  • I hooked up two of these at 1 ohm to my 1200 watt mono block and I can't even turn my amp up or they start poppin. I had one 15" punch P1 hooked up to the same amp and it never popped or sounded bad and I had the amp all the way up! I would not recommend these subs to anyone who wants real bass! Their ok for a little definition butt that's it!

  • Well my good friend Louis being the money saver he is bought 2 of theses and hooked then up to the audiobahn 8002v in a 4 cu ft sealed box with a 4 ga soundstream wire kit and a pioneer head unit and as soon as we turned it on to test it out he said he wanted different subs. they sounded like crap worse than the walmart pioneers he had before. so we heard ma audio was a good brand so he got 2 120xe's and a hk798 with everything else the same we turned it on and what an improvement it hit 10 times harder and had a cleaner sound now he is stuck on ma audio and will never buy audiobahn again! p.s. and now im thinking of getting some ma subs myself

  • Ive had these subs professionally installed at a local car audio shop. Ive had them for about 8 months. I have them hooked up to a Hifonics 1606D. They hit really hard for the time I've has them. They have recently blown. Its my second set of audiobahn subs. They are a good sub fo the money, they just can't handle continuous beatings for very long. Audiobahn products are still great.

  • i had two of these 12 inch subs in a 3.5cubic foot box hooked with a sony 1000w amp and i blew out a 170db at a sound comp in birmingham last year the meter was on the dash of my 96 grand am and i was playing the crap easy listening they gave me to put in my deck but hey i placed second in my class so the way i see it you get alot of bang for buck with these ...... i will be using these again in my next project car

  • good bang for the buck but, not as deep as paperback woofers thoug. i would stick to higher quality subs like orion jlaudio etc you simply are happier with the better subs but they are alright for the money

  • all you need is one subwoofer!!! i have 2 hooked up to a zapco 350 and it is way too much bass. i have them in a 2 cubic foot box each and they shake the crap out of the car. great bang for the buck. these wooers dont take more then 250 a piece though they start to slap as they bottom out

  • These would be good for someone who wants their first pair of subs and doesn't want to spend a lot of money. Although, I am disappointed as to their performance. The bass is not low enough for my liking, they just sound too airy... if that is a word? It's like it's pushing more air than it is deep bass.

  • Alright for the price, but if you want some real bass think about throwing your $40 somewhere else. I have 2 12" dub200s in a sealed box, with a 1200 watt RMS mono block hifonics amp, and i thought they would pound. they hit clean, but not a booming bass you would want, save up another $100 and get some kicker 12" CVX or solobaric. or alpine type r.s

  • First of all, all these people complaining know very little about subwoofers. sealed boxes will often times limit your "boomy" bass. also, pushing air, IS what makes sound, the more air you push, the louder and more intesnse it is. if you notice, the people that tend to give good ratings know what they are talking about, and the people with bad ratings usually seem clueless. Their boxes sound inferior. a word of advice: a sub can only be as good as its box.

  • Very surprised and pleased with these speakers. I was wanting some subs to get me by till I could afford some thing better, but I found that these were quite capable. Very impressive to say the least. I would definately give these some serious consideration. You can't beat them for the price.

  • All I can say is that this is the best $80 I've spent on the system yet. I installed 2 of these in the back of my volvo in a sealed box with 2 cu feet each. They're powered by the Crunch 1100.2 amp(great by the way!). I read on Crutchfield to break subs in for 20 hours so I'm still at low volumes, but low volumes are still insane! The review that Dylan Meyer wrote is exactly right. When you install a system don't just start throwing stuff together; research! Find out how to get the type of sound you want. Personally, I wanted the sound that a sealed box gets - tight and a little more accurate than the ported. Even though I have a sealed box, these things are still crazy loud and they still have the "booming bass" if that's what you want to call it. Don't spend more money than you have to. Buy these things while they are still on sale! If you do your homework and install these correctly, you will not be disappointed! No booming bass? I can't see out of my mirrors with it turned up 25%!
