Product Reviews For Pioneer AVH-P4900DVD

  • Installation was easy, instructions are great, the hardest part was just knowing your vehicle and figuringout how to take your trim apart. The deck fits perfect, wireharness at the end of install was really bulky especially when you install RCA jacks for subs and other stuff, but was expected, this is of course a multimedia center. The cost was awsome, about $799 CND where i purchased it. Sound for music was crystal clear and movie audio was great too but would have to kinda turn it up a bit more. It helps when you have a fully upgraded soundsystem in your vehicle to take advantage of this recivers full potential. It is not bluetooth ready and does not come with a remote but is sold seperately direct from pioneer for about $15 US. ON the upside it is SAT radio ready, so you can either install XM or the other guy ( XM FAN here ). This is a great entry level car DVD video/Reciver to have. Picture quality is great as well as the antiglare touchscreen, theres even an ambient light sensor so the brightness is automatically adjusted to lighting conditions when viewing a movie. If your looking for an affordable top name brand multimedia reciver for your vehicle, get this one, do not even think about getting the cheaper no name brand recivers, because they are just a waste of money and are of poor quality.

  • this was my first in dash dvd ive ever owned. so i cant say its the best ive ever owned. there a few guys in my car club who have enything from kenwood to alpine. i noticed that this doesnt have the nice fancy background to look at. but i have a few blue neon lights in my car, so it kind of sets it all off really nicely. i have a set of the pioneer TS-C1653 6-1/2" component speakers. this in dash really makes them sound nice as well as the cheep ass roadmaster 6x9's in the back. i have a alpine mono amp running off this and with 2.2 volts, it make my 10'' kicker cvr sound really nice. im pretty big on sound quality. this product gives you more than just changing how much bass, mids and highs you have. you can change the hpf, sub controls, and its super easy to bypass so u can watch movie while driving lol. it sounds better than the alpine head unit i had in it. only thing that sucks about this unit is that it doesnt come with a remote. my very first pioneer head unit came with one. other than that, i think this product is sweet!
