Product Reviews For Focal 165 VR

  • I have 2 sets of these in my door panels and the tweeters fucking scream. If your not familiar with focal they are as good as it gets. Incredibly clear highs. My amp puts out 75 watts rms to each component and at about 1/3 volume is plenty loud. Not a lot of bass from this set, but that's what subs are for.

  • i got only 1 pair, gonna get the coax's for the back soon, but these things scream, i got them on a 4 channel rockford power amp, i think there getting like 139rms per channel , but i herd them in the store at 75rms and on the rockford ,they said like 125 and they sound even better on the 125rms and eat it all day. super loud super detailed, they make u go deaf.. i been thru ALLOT of speakers, im not the best , but better than 90% of the IDIOTS out their and these speakers are amazing ,i luv them

  • update- 93 accord 6.5 comps in tha door, 6.5 coax in the rear custum panel , rockford power 400w 4ch, 1 alpine type x 12,1000w alpine pdx.. my alpine sounded great, expected more but it hit hard, and my mids and highs completly drown out the sub. haha. best mids ive ever herd , the music is just amzing, like ive never herd it b4. i dream of the 3 ways.. they DONT really have any bass ,true, but they dont hit like a sub i guess ,but other deep tones "voice, piano etc" sound beautiful. my sounds got stollen unfortunetly ,now i have infinity kappa 6.5 coax n 6/9 kappa in da back (no amp yet) without the amp they have way more bass. kappas sound great ,but i miss my focals soo much.. i gota get a amp 4 da infinitys ,but even with it i dought tey will compare..these polyglass are the bomb , for the clarity it doesnt get louder.. i could probly get louder with sum cheap 300watt 3 inch horn tweeters, but they would be harsh and make loud NOISE, not loud music. with the focals EVERY sound you want to hear is loud n really really clear. i miss my focals. and yea i compared them to boston/alpine type x comps,kicker,rockford,rainbow,eclipse(3way 700$) infinty,jl,mb quartz ETC.. the only thing im intwrested in besides focals is CDT audio ? never herd them but seems good ? and image dynamics horns ,i herd thats also the real real deal..

  • I heard/auditioned lots of car speakers like hertz, alpine, cadence, JL, DLS, ciare, hybrid audio, focal etc.. and i can say gthe Focal 165VR is one of the best i've heard. It may not the very best but still the sound quality comming out from these speakers are excelent. The build quality alone is really good these are not your typical china made speakers (made in FR). I got them installed and tuned by a pro car audio shop with proper deadning. I'm so impressed with the result and the sound quality now i enjoy driving my car more than ever.
