Product Reviews For Alpine SWR-1043D

  • just got two of these. this 10in gets a perfect 10. i installed them each in their own small sealed box and have them waggin under both dropdown bolster seats in my boat. i also picked up a pdx m12 alpine mono amp. 1200rms at 4 2 or1 ohms. iam wired to 4ohms for simplicity and reliability. these subs are great, the sound quality had me stumped on how i wanted to tune my system. I was able to set the xover higher to allow a more full range bass output with plenty of volume and no highrange pop and now the music is super full and realistic. this was set to enjoy music where an actual bass guitar was used in the recording, and not synth bass. on the other hand, i then tuned for sub bass and was amazed at the ultra low bass pumping rap and r@b pumping out theses small 10s. its doesnt matter the music you like. and even if you dont like alpine. i would give these a try. and go sealed in your boats if you like the way bass sounds.

  • I was looking for subs in the 500-600 rms watt range since I'm pushing them with an arc audio 1000rms amp! Was looking at eclipse, Rockford, solobarics or just 1 alpine type X but would rather have 2 subs! I'd never heard the old type Rs but heard good things about them so I knew these were gonna be even better then I saw these on eBay for $105 and free shipping so I had to get 2 of them! Got them home and put them in a simple sealed box and man did they hit!!!! Sounded great, had nice feel to them and didn't miss a beat! Well I just used that box to break them and now I have them in a 3cb ft slot ported box I custom built to specs and DAMN I thought that already hit hard in the sealed box but ported made a hugh difference!!! I've had L5s 10s, JL w3s, kicker CVRs all on the same amp cuz I love arc audio amps but none of these subs came n e where close to these type Rs! Get them!!!! And put them in a ported box to unleash their real potential and no one will believe u only have 10s!!!!!!!!!

  • This sub is amazing. I listen to all kinds of music including rock, metal, country, and some rap, and responds very well no matter what I put on. I have it wired to pull 500watts @ 2 ohms from my kenwood KAC-8105D amp and it hits hard. It's in a .76 ft3 sealed box and it sounds very throaty. Even with it being sealed my rearview mirror is useless. Before i installed it i was somewhat skeptical at how it would sound at lower volume levels because of the extremely stiff suspension. However, even before completely breaking in it was very audible at all levels. Very pleased with this sub. performs like one at least twice it's price. Put's my brother's two 10" kickers to shame.

  • i recently upgraded to a type X from this sub but il post a review anyway. wow. type Rs do not joke around. this little 10 can put out some hard bass. i listen to rap rock dubstep , all of it. the bass is mega clear and hits low and high. i had a SS 1500w amp pushing it at 600wrms and the sub didnt even look like it was at full cone travel. it could have handled more, at least 800w rms. for $125 you cant go wrong. but be warned! this kind of bass is addicting and youll soon be adding more subs or buying the type X which is a beast as well. great product!

  • I had one of these in a sealed box in the trunk of a 99 camaro. This was my first real sub. (I don't count walmart subs). I powered this bad boy with a RF punch 550.1 amp. I can't remember how many times I was asked how many subs I had in my trunk, and I loved the look on their face when I show them it's just one 10" in a sealed box. Great sub, even better for the money.
