  • i also put these subs to extream test. mind you those amps are 450 watts rms over the sub. i play my music loud non stop. so they can take a beating.

  • Ordered the SWR-1242d, but onlinecarstereo sent me this instead! No complaints, 100w RMS more power on this one anyway. Have this hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate R500-1 amp running 500w RMS at 2 ohms to the sub in a sealed box. In my little volkswagen corrado, it slams for the money. Would recommend this sub to anyone looking for pretty big bass if you only want to run one subwoofer. Just make sure you get a monoblock amp that puts out atleast 500-600 watts RMS.

  • Alpine never gets the right value on any of the products. I have two of these subs and running of the MRP-M1000 running both subs. They hit real hard without a doubt. But the subs need literally 1000 rms watts a piece. I'm only running them at 4ohm due to the lack of power

  • I purchased two of these subwoofers last month from Online Car Stereo and have them in a 3cu.ft. box tuned to 36hz. I have one hifonics 1000w rms amplifier that I also purchased from here and I'm running @ 1ohm and let me tell you the low notes to the hard knockers my chest hurts after awhile lol. These subs are fantastic and live up to the hype and name of alpine. The price is well worth it.. I was skeptical of the super cheap price thinking onlinecarstereo would send refurbished subs but they were brand new. INVEST in these!!! One month of running the stereo hard and not a single complaint from me. FREE Shipping took 7 days from the time I got off the phone ordering with onlinecarstereo and I'm on the east coast!

  • I have two of these. Each with own amp bridged at 750 watts rms each at 4 ohms, so 1500 rms and haven't had any problems. These things can take a lot of power without blowing with the proper wiring. I upgraded from the 1242 to the 1243 because of the extra power this have over the previous versions.

  • I have 2 of these hooked up to a hifonics brutus amp playing 1700watts @ 1ohm, 850rms to each one. the sound quality is very good. I have the gain on the amp turned to a little less then halfway and they hit very hard even in the front seats of my 4door car. These subs could literally handle 1000rms each. They are alot cheaper then the prices in best buy and car toyz, your practically stealing these subs if you buy em. With these, a good amp, box and proper wiring your car will be thumping too.
