Product Reviews For Planet Audio AC1200.2

  • Great amp and great value. I have 2 of these amps each pushing 2 12s and they slap! Its a very heavy duty amp from top to bottom. The illuminated logo looks nice, the crossover is detailed, and the bass knob comes in handy. Overall a great amp for the money. You also get a planet audio window decal in the package.

  • one of the best amps ive ever owned. ive had rockford fosgate apine kenwood and other brands but this one is by far my favoriteonly has a 35 amp fuse so its only supposed to but out like 400 watts. i dont know how planet audio does it but it does make its watts. i have a 12" rockford P3 and i smoked it with thing. i wasnt distoring it. the sub is supposed to take 600 watts rms and i bought this amp thinking it would only do like 400 but it puts out a lot more than that.

  • I just bought his amp yesterday and i installed it and took it for a test drive today. I have to say i was skepticle at first because i was replacing my 300 watt, unrated and non-fused JL audio amp with a brand that i never heard of for a fraction of the price. Just for perspective my previous setup was the JL audio G1300 monoblock amp pushing 2 Kicker 07CVR124 speakers on an 80 amp fuse. So i was pulling waaaaay more wattage out of my 300 watt amp than it was rated for. Decided i was gonna match my speaker correctly and throw that old amp in the wifes car. I got the new amp installed and took it away from the house so i could really turn it up. There was no need, i have the gain set at about 1/4 and the speakers kicked out bass that the other amp was producing at 3/4. i ran this thing with the gain up and toggled the bass boost up and down for 45+ minutes and it got hot, but just below burn yourself hot and my subs hit hard. I actually had to turn the gain down beacuse my dynamated truck was starting to rattle again. I still need to mess with the setting a bit more to fined my sweet spot but i have to say its a good buy. If i manage to overheat it or throw it into protection mode i'll post another review.
