I bought a used 97 Jeep Wrangler and wanted some better sound. Soundbar had kenwood coax and some garbage 4x6's up front. Went with infinity's up front, as there's not many options. I decided i wanted Precision Power amplification, i got the Phantom 900.4 at 125/channel @ 4ohm to have overhead with any speakers i might get. For soundbar components, i was torn between Alpine SPR-60C's, Rockford T-1652s, Kenwood SR-17P's and the Precision Power P.65C3's. I decided to go with the PPI's as i figured their components and amps are meant for each other. After some time cutting the soundbar and cutting spacers for the woofers and mids, i installed and hooked up. I got a used Kenwood Excelon BT952 headunit which has DSP processing and many features...WOW! I've had these installed for a month. I listen to a lot of metal: Disturbed, Slipknot, Rage, Tool, etc. These speakers are VERY accurate in that they represent recordings quite well. Detail, accuracy, intensity and power. They also will represent recording inconsistencies, low quality recording levels, etc. For the money, they are awesome. I'm sure there are better but for WAY more money. If you want straight noise, then look elsewhere. These will begin to distort if not crossed-over properly. You need bass (subwoofer) to accompany these or you'll be missing out. If you ask just a touch too low, then you get distortion. Once you move the Hz up on a high pass, then these will take the "handoff" from a sub and just slay anything you throw at them. These definitely need to be tuned, but i give them an awesome rating regardless. Super happy and OCS gave the right price. As an Authorized PPI dealer, it's a no-brainer.
