The subwoofer comes with the Kicker's SoloKon polypropylene cone with a Santoprene rubber surround stitched into it, giving it the capacity to deliver an accurate bass response with reduced distortion while also having the durability needed to withstand the effects of being used at extended periods at high volume levels. It also has Kicker's Blue Lace spider, which gives additional stability to the subwoofer.
To keep the subwoofer cool all the time, Kicker uses its famous UniPlate, which is a back plate and pole piece combined in one piece, allowing the subwoofer to stay cool. Its cast aluminum basket also has large vents to help for better airflow, so overheating won't be a problem with this subwoofer, even if it is used for long hours most of the time.

Already had 1 of these for about 1 year and a half....thought it had blew because I heard a flapping noise every once in a while...so I purchased another one just to find out that it had not blown..but one of my mid ranges was the culprit...man this speaker is still going strong and it's beating the block down...for real....
