Designed For 8" Speakers

SSV Works custom molded Cage Mount Pods are designed for 8" speakers and can be used when you need more sound in your Side by Side. Unlike wakeboard towers, our mini pods are designed to provide sound to the passengers without blocking visibility. They are finished in a black texture and is stylized to match factory interior textures and can be custom painted to match your color scheme. Brand-new redesigned dual clamping system allows you 360-degree rotation while on the cage. Unlike other cage pods where you need to find its position before the clamp goes on. Includes stainless mounting hardware, and step-by-step installation instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • • Why does the US2-C8U-200 sound louder on one side?
Uneven output can come from balance settings, amplifier channel differences, speaker positioning, or a loose connection. Swap the left and right channels to determine whether the issue follows the speaker or stays with the amplifier channel.
  • • What causes the speaker to sound muddy at low frequencies?
Inadequate enclosure volume, incorrect crossover settings, or installation that does not properly seal the speaker can affect its bass response. Check the enclosure and audio settings before assuming the speaker is faulty.
  • • Can the speaker handle continuous high-volume playback?
The important specification for extended playback is the speaker's RMS power handling, not simply its peak rating. Use an amplifier that provides suitable clean power and avoid excessive gain or clipping during prolonged high-volume use.
  • • Why does the sound become harsh after installing an amplifier?
An amplifier can expose problems with gain structure or equalization. If the gain is set too high, the system may clip, producing harsh sound even though the speaker itself is operating normally.
  • • What should I inspect after a particularly rough trail ride?
Check the speaker mounting hardware, connectors, cable routing, and enclosure for movement or physical damage. Off-road vibration can gradually loosen hardware or stress wiring even when everything initially worked correctly.
  • • Why does the speaker stop playing after the vehicle gets wet?
Inspect the wiring and connectors for moisture or corrosion, especially at exposed connection points. Dry the connections thoroughly and identify any damaged seals or wiring before operating the system again.
  • • Will the US2-C8U-200 work properly without a dedicated subwoofer?
It can provide the mid-bass and full-range audio expected from a powersports speaker, but it should not be expected to reproduce the deepest bass like a dedicated subwoofer. Adding a subwoofer is useful when stronger low-frequency impact is desired.
  • • Why does the speaker sound fine in the garage but weak on the trail?
The acoustics of an open UTV change dramatically once the vehicle is moving. Engine noise, wind, tire noise, and distance from the speakers can mask frequencies that are clearly audible when the vehicle is stationary.
  • • What if the speaker does not line up with my existing enclosure?
Check the speaker cutout, mounting depth, bolt pattern, and available clearance before drilling new holes. Using an enclosure designed for the correct speaker size is generally preferable to forcing an incompatible mounting arrangement.
  • • How can I prevent the speaker connection from loosening?
Secure the wiring so it cannot hang or pull directly on the speaker terminals. Proper strain relief and protected cable routing are especially important on UTVs because constant vibration can gradually stress an unsupported connection.
