Why Choose Rockford Fosgate P300-8P Powered Subwoofer?
With Built-in Amplifier
The Punch 300-8P is a self-contained subwoofer enclosure with a built-in amplifier. This "all in one" solution is great for systems that need extra Punch on the low-end of the frequency spectrum. The 8" high-output subwoofer is impedance optimized for the built-in 300-watt class-D amplifier that features a low-pass crossover, bass EQ and phase switch.
Designed and Constructed Using MDF
The enclosure can be connected via speaker-level inputs for connection to factory systems, or traditional line-level inputs for aftermarket systems. It also features an intelligent auto turn-on/off circuit that eliminates the need for a separate turn-on wire. The enclosure itself is precision-designed and constructed using MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) for the best acoustical properties and covered with heat activated vinyl finish to resist marks.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why is there no bass after installation?
Check the power, ground, input signal, and speaker connections. Also verify the gain and crossover settings are properly adjusted.
- • Why does the bass sound distorted?
Lower the gain and bass boost. Distortion can come from excessive input levels, clipping, or incorrect settings.
- • Why does the subwoofer shut off at high volume?
Overheating, low voltage, or excessive input levels can cause protection. Check the power connections, ventilation, and settings.
- • Why does the bass sound weak compared with my old sub?
Check the gain, crossover, polarity, and enclosure placement. Incorrect settings or poor placement can reduce bass output.
- • Why does it make a popping sound?
A popping noise can come from signal issues, loose connections, or improper gain settings. Check the input and power connections first.
- • Why is there engine noise through the subwoofer?
Engine noise is often caused by grounding or signal interference. Check the ground and keep signal cables away from power wiring.
- • Why does the bass cut out while driving?
Loose power, ground, or signal connections can cause intermittent output. Inspect the wiring and secure all terminals.
- • Can I connect it to a factory stereo?
Yes, depending on the vehicle and available signal connections. Verify the required input method and follow the installation instructions.
- • Why does the unit get very hot?
Some heat is normal, but excessive temperature may indicate poor ventilation or high output levels. Ensure adequate airflow around the unit.
- • What should I check if it suddenly stops working?
Check the fuse, power and ground connections, input signal, and protection indicators. Look for loose or damaged wiring before testing again.
