- • Why does my M2WL-8B swivel after I have already tightened the mount?
The wake can uses a separate rotation lock-down screw. If the safety Torx fastener is not fully tightened after setting the angle, vibration can allow the speaker to move while the boat is underway.
- • Why are the RGB lights not working even though the speaker has sound?
The M2WL-8B's audio and Color Optix lighting use separate connections. The speaker can play normally while the RGB circuit remains inactive if the lighting wiring, power, ground, or controller connection has not been completed correctly.
- • Why does one M2WL-8B sound louder than the other?
Uneven output can come from amplifier channel settings, incorrect speaker polarity, loose wiring, or different speaker aiming. Check both 4-ohm speakers and their signal paths before assuming one unit is defective.
- • Why is the speaker quiet even though everything appears connected?
The M2WL-8B is rated at 300 watts RMS and 1,200 watts peak, so amplifier capability and gain settings have a major effect on output. An underpowered or poorly configured amplifier may prevent the speaker from reaching its expected performance.

The RGB system operates within a 9–16V range and has a listed 0.25-amp LED current draw. Voltage problems, loose connectors, an incorrect ground, or an improperly fused lighting circuit can cause the illumination to cut out while the speaker continues playing.
- • Why can't I rotate the speaker far enough toward my preferred listening position?
The mounting location must provide enough clearance for the wake can to swivel. Rockford specifically instructs installers to check the complete rotation for obstructions before permanently securing the speaker.
