The SA-TPOD-100-BK is an empty, specialized housing precision-machined exclusively for JL Audio 1-inch component tweeters from the C3, C6, and C7 series (such as the C7-100ct or C3-100ct). Generic or other brand aftermarket tweeters will not physically snap into place or align with the internal mount fixtures.
- • Do these pods come with the tweeters included in the box?
No. This product is strictly an "unloaded" pair of custom architectural surface mounts containing only the empty billet aluminum pods, mounting gaskets, washers, and nuts. You must purchase your compatible JL Audio 1-inch component tweeters separately.
- • What size hole saw do I need to drill into my dashboard to install these?
Each pod features a clean, single-post mounting architecture that conceals the speaker wire inside the threaded hollow bolt. You only need to drill a single **7/16-inch (11 mm)** hole through your plastic dash trim, A-pillar cover, or door panel to secure the pod base.
- • Can I mount these pods on a thick custom fiberglass enclosure or a padded leather dashboard?
The factory mounting hardware is engineered to clamp down onto flat panels with a **maximum thickness of 0.63 inches (16 mm)**. If your custom upholstered dash or fiberglass panel exceeds this depth, the bottom mounting nut will not catch the threads of the pod stem.
