Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • What type of enclosure is recommended for the best bass performance?
This subwoofer is designed to work well in either a sealed or ported enclosure built to the recommended internal volume. Using the proper enclosure helps maximize output, accuracy, and low-frequency extension.
- • Why does the bass become distorted when I increase the volume?
Amplifier clipping, excessive gain, or incorrect crossover settings are the most common causes of distortion. Proper tuning helps deliver cleaner bass and protects the subwoofer from damage.
- • Can I connect this to my factory audio system?
Yes, but you'll typically need an external amplifier and, in some vehicles, a line output converter. A factory head unit alone usually cannot provide enough power for optimal performance.
- • Why is the bass output lower than expected?
Incorrect enclosure size, improper wiring, or amplifier settings can significantly reduce bass performance. Double-check the enclosure design and amplifier configuration before replacing any components.
- • How should I wire the dual 4-ohm voice coils?
The voice coils can be wired in series or parallel depending on your amplifier's supported impedance. Follow the recommended wiring diagram to achieve a safe final load.
- • Why do I hear rattling in my trunk when the bass hits?
Strong bass can cause loose trim panels, license plates, or enclosure hardware to vibrate. Tightening loose components and adding sound-deadening material can reduce unwanted noise.
- • Does it need a break-in period?
Yes. Moderate playback during the first several hours allows the suspension to loosen naturally for smoother and more consistent bass response.
- • Why does the subwoofer get hot after extended listening?
Some heat is expected during high-power operation. Excessive heat may indicate amplifier clipping, overpowering, or inadequate ventilation around the enclosure.
- • Can I use two subwoofers with one amplifier?
Yes, as long as the final impedance matches your amplifier's specifications. Proper wiring ensures reliable operation and prevents unnecessary strain on the amplifier.
- • Why does moving the enclosure change the bass response?
Vehicle acoustics and enclosure placement greatly influence how low frequencies are heard inside the cabin. Experimenting with different positions can improve bass output and overall sound balance.

I've had like a bunch of subs from all sorts of brands, but this one really got my attention, you know? I'd totally say go for it if you want an awesome sub. Slapped it with a 750W mono amp, and it's already bumping loud and clear, and it ain't even fully broken in yet, man.

I like the fact that it's not overpowering. It just sounds smooth and clean. Love how it looks too.
