Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Can I use this amplifier with my factory stereo system?
Yes, it can work with many factory head units when paired with the proper line output converter or compatible high-level inputs. This allows you to upgrade your bass without replacing your factory radio.
- • What size subwoofer works best with this amplifier?
It performs best when paired with a subwoofer whose RMS power handling closely matches the amplifier's output. Matching the amplifier and subwoofer properly helps deliver clean, reliable bass performance.
- • What is the Dynamic Peak Power (DPP) technology?
DPP is an exclusive technology that allows the amplifier to provide short, high-energy bursts to handle peak musical transients.
- • Why is my subwoofer not producing any sound?
This may happen if the remote turn-on wire, speaker wiring, or audio input connections are incorrect. Verifying every connection and confirming the source unit is sending a signal usually restores output.
- • Why does the bass sound distorted at higher volumes?
Distortion is commonly caused by excessive gain, amplifier clipping, or incorrect crossover settings. Proper gain adjustment and crossover tuning help maintain clean, powerful bass.
- • Does this amplifier get hot during normal operation?
Yes, it is normal for the amplifier to become warm during extended listening sessions. Installing it in a well-ventilated location helps maintain reliable performance and prevents overheating.
- • Is the wiring harness difficult to work with?
Some users have reported that the included wiring harness uses thick, rigid strands that can be difficult to manage when space is limited.
- • Can I install this amplifier in a small or hidden location?
Yes, its compact size allows installation under many seats or in other tight spaces where larger amplifiers may not fit. Always leave enough room around the amplifier for proper airflow.
- • Why do I hear a humming or whining noise through my subwoofer?
This is often caused by grounding issues, poor cable routing, or electrical interference from the vehicle. Improving the ground connection and separating power cables from signal cables usually eliminates the noise.
- • Does this unit have a built-in bass boost or fan cooling?
No, this amplifier does not include a built-in bass boost feature. It is not fan-cooled, so it should be installed in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup.

I have these Alpine amp with an Alpine iLX-W650 on my ‘18 Honda Fit and it’s a dream. This little thing is powerful and produces clean sound. Highly recommended.
-
I bought it and had it stacked with the iLX-407 receiver. I connected all the speakers to the stereo and I hooked up my Alpine sub to the amplifier as I felt the sub a little lacking when I paired it in the receiver. Now, the sound is complete and its so much better. The bass is so clear now with this current setup
-
Power is really not an issue with this slim and compact amp. Very easy to setup too.
-
Made my subwoofer sound much better. I wish it had an RCA option though
