Rockford Fosgate Punch P3 Series Subwoofer
Powerful, reliable subwoofer designed for deep bass response. It features a 4-Ohms dual voice coil, an anodized aluminum cone, and a stamp-cast basket with integrated spider venting. The subwoofer also features an exclusive Spider Plateau Venting system, which helps to cool the voice coil and reduce distortion. The P3D4-12 offers a peak power rating of 1200 watts and a RMS power rating of 600 watts. With its high-performance design and advanced technology, the Rockford Fosgate P3D4-12 Punch P3 Series 12" Subwoofer is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their car audio system.
Standout Performance
Rockford Fosgate showcases their fanatical commitment to sonic excellence in the Punch Series of speakers, amps, and subs. If you like to listen to potent, powerful music — and feel it too — Punch components will give you impressive sound that'll stand out in a crowd.
Designed For Deeper & Louder Bass
Rockford Fosgate designed the P3D4-12 12" subwoofer to stay strong even when the bass gets hot. This Punch P3 sub features a rigid anodized aluminum cone that holds its shape through heavy play, while staying light and responsive. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the oversized rubber surround to the cone that increases available cone area up to 25%, so this sub can push more air for even bigger bass.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why isn't my subwoofer producing any bass?
Check the amplifier settings, speaker wiring, and enclosure connections. Incorrect polarity, a loose wire, or an improperly configured amplifier can significantly reduce bass output.
- • What size enclosure works best for this subwoofer?
The subwoofer performs best in an enclosure built to the manufacturer's recommended sealed or ported specifications. Using the correct box size greatly improves bass accuracy and efficiency.
- • Can I wire the dual voice coils for different impedance loads?
Yes. The dual voice coil design allows multiple wiring configurations, but always match the final impedance to your amplifier's supported operating range.
- • Why does my amplifier keep going into protect mode?
Protection mode may indicate an incorrect impedance load, damaged speaker wiring, or overheating. Verify the wiring configuration and ensure the amplifier has proper ventilation.
- • Why do I hear a rattling noise when the bass hits?
Rattling can come from loose enclosure hardware, mounting screws, or nearby vehicle panels. Inspect the enclosure and tighten all mounting points before assuming the subwoofer is damaged.
- • Does the subwoofer require a break-in period?
Yes. Playing music at moderate volume for several hours allows the suspension to loosen naturally, helping the subwoofer achieve smoother response and optimal performance.
- • Can I use this subwoofer with a factory head unit?
Yes, but you'll typically need an external amplifier and, in some vehicles, a line output converter to provide sufficient power and signal quality.
- • Why does the bass sound weak even with a powerful amplifier?
Weak bass is often caused by an improperly sized enclosure, incorrect phase, poor amplifier tuning, or air leaks. Reviewing the installation usually resolves the problem.
- • How much amplifier power should I use with this subwoofer?
Choose an amplifier whose RMS output closely matches the subwoofer's RMS power rating. Proper power matching delivers stronger performance while reducing the risk of damage from clipping.

I bought a pais of these P3s and ran the Prime 1000 amp. Sounded ok in a dual slot port box totaling 3.5 cu ft. Later added a RF-BLD (it's the 360.1) and BOOOOMMM!!!!! WOW! That's all I can say is WOW! T-Pain's "Booty Work" hits unbelievably hard (the kind of hit that you feel in your chest, not the ears but there too).

I have one on the backseat of my 2004 F-150 on a 500bd class amp, and I promise heads turn when they found out its only a single sub. This sub can take a beaten... I had the same sub since 2011 and still havent burned it up!

I brought these subs and two 15"p3's as well and I'm highly impressed with the sound and most of all the price. Online car stereo is the best place to go for all car audio needs and the shipping and arrival time is fast. I'd recommend online car stereo to anyone and especially these speakers. I ran the two 15's in a 1ohm load to my Brutus 2100.1d amp in a sealed enclosure. I ran the two 12's in single slot ported boxes with the same amp and the same load. All I can say is I'm waking the town up when I slide by and I owe it to online car stereo!!!

Running one of these with kenwood excelon 500.1. It's pretty nice. Sounds ok but it doesn't hit close to the alpine type r.

Once again the team Fosgate has done it again with these P3's. If you in to trunk slappin',bass shakin' and mirrors fallin' look no further cause you found the right speakers for the job. At 1200 watts each with the right amp it's no way you can go wrong. But the biggest shout out goes to the good ol' boys and girls from online car stereo for always being helpful, professional and most definitely fast when it comes to placing you order all the way to the last step receiving you order.
